Position overview
The Equipment Technician is responsible for ensuring that our flagship farm equipment is available and in optimal working condition in the day-to-day operations. The main duties include troubleshooting and maintenance of the completed line of equipment in both the production and VIFS areas. In the startup phase, he is the main person to install, assemble, test and maintain the cages before they are being loaded into the system.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the daily farming production activities of prototype / flagship farm by ensuring that equipment is readily available and in optimal working condition.
- Perform quality checks on all delivered cages by verifying that all items and accessories for the cage meets industry standards and safety regulations.
- Assemble and test all accessories of the completed cage before commissioning for operation.
- Maintenance of vertical farm machinery and tools.
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment.
- Read and understand equipment operations and maintenance manuals and propose improvements to enhance equipment reliability and performance.
- Train the production team on the operation of equipment.
- Ensure that all works adhere to the company policies and safety regulations
- Maintain the working facility and equipment in a clean, sanitized, safe, and organized way, on a routine basis.
- Any other duties as assigned.
Key Requirements
- Nitec or Higher in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
- Hands-on experience in electrical & mechanical systems in a critical mission environment.
- Self-motivated and proactive with a strong sense of ownership.
- Able to work independently and safely.
- Ability to read and comprehend technical manuals and schematics
- Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures
- Ability to follow instructions
