The Porter is responsible for setting up and tearing down event spaces, providing logistical support, and delivering excellent customer service. Reporting to the Unit Manager, the Porter ensures events run smoothly and efficiently, maintaining cleanliness and safety throughout.
Job Responsibilities:
· Set-up and Tear-down: Responsible for setting up event spaces, including arranging furniture, installing decorations, and ensuring all equipment and supplies are in place. After the event, they assist in tearing down and cleaning up the venue.
· Logistics Support: Assist with logistical tasks such as coordinating deliveries, organizing storage areas, and managing inventory of event supplies.
· Customer Service: Interact with guests, providing directions, answering questions, and ensuring a positive experience for attendees.
· General Support: Provide general support to event staff and vendors to ensure the event runs smoothly and efficiently. Tasks may include running errands, assisting with registration, cleaning rooms, preparing and serving beverages if needed.
· Transporting Items: Move furniture, equipment, and supplies to and from event locations, ensuring everything is in the right place at the right time.
· Maintaining Cleanliness: Ensure event spaces, hallways, and restrooms are clean and presentable throughout the event.
· Safety and Security: Monitor the event area for any safety hazards and report any issues to the appropriate personnel. Ensure that all safety protocols are followed during set-up and tear-down.
Job Requirements:
- Able to speak and write simple English.
- Prior experience preferred, preferably 1-2 years in a similar capacity.
- Well groomed and Customer-oriented.
- Possesses good inter-personal skills and pleasant disposition.
