Job Title: HR Director (JAPAC)
Position Overview: As the HR Director for the APJ region, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the people strategy, fostering a positive work culture, and driving talent management initiatives across diverse countries and cultures. You’ll collaborate closely with business leaders, HR teams, and employees to ensure effective HR practices that align with organizational goals.
Responsibilities:
1. Strategic HR Leadership:
o Develop and execute HR strategies that support business growth and expansion in the APJ region.
o Partner with senior leadership to align HR initiatives with overall business objectives.
o Drive organizational effectiveness, change management, and workforce planning. Lead, mentor, and develop the JAPAC HR team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture
o Be an active part of the international HR community, by collaborating with the international HR colleagues on global projects and guidance and implementing them in JAPAC
2. Talent Acquisition and Management:
o Oversee end-to-end recruitment processes, ensuring the acquisition of top talent.
o Implement talent development programs, succession planning, and leadership pipelines.
o Foster a diverse and inclusive workforce by promoting equal opportunities.
3. Employee Relations and Engagement:
o Act as a trusted advisor to employees and managers, addressing concerns and promoting a positive work environment.
o Develop and execute employee engagement initiatives, including surveys, recognition programs, and wellness initiatives.
o Handle complex employee relations matters and ensure compliance with labor laws.
4. Performance Management:
o Design and implement performance appraisal systems, feedback mechanisms, and goal-setting processes.
o Coach managers on performance-related matters and facilitate performance improvement plans.
2. Compensation and Benefits:
o Collaborate with global compensation teams to design competitive salary structures and benefits packages.
o Ensure compliance with local regulations regarding compensation, benefits, and payroll.
3. Learning and Development:
o Identify training needs and create learning programs to enhance employee skills.
o Promote a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
4. HR Analytics and Metrics:
o Use data-driven insights to assess HR effectiveness, track key metrics, and make informed decisions.
o Monitor turnover rates, engagement levels, and other relevant HR KPIs.
5. Cross-Cultural Competence:
o Understand cultural nuances and adapt HR practices accordingly.
o Navigate language differences, time zones, and regional sensitivities.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred).
· Proven experience (typically 10+ years) in HR leadership roles, preferably within multinational companies.
· Strong understanding of JAPAC labor laws and regulations.
· Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to build relationships across diverse teams and geographies.
· Fluency in English and proficiency in at least one other APJ language (e.g., Japanese, Mandarin, Korean).
· Some travel from time to time required
