The Assistant Retail Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the gift store, photo op and F&B setup. He / she will open and close the store, manage scheduling and daily retail operations, ensure the retail team delivers top-flight customer service to all visitors, and communicate daily and weekly activity reports for circulation to Head Office.
The ideal candidate has a Diploma, proven experience in retail and/or F&B store operations, strong leadership skills, excellent computer knowledge, the physical ability to perform this job, and knows how to “listen and lead.” He or she must have a dynamic personality and must be able to motivate a team.
Role Responsibilities
Sales & Service, Floor Presence & Maintenance, Back of House Support
- Embrace the Harry Potter Visions of Magic experience and follow training guidelines and standards to reflect brand standards and image
- Provide excellent customer service skills, great selling skills and show motivation to succeed
- Confidently liaising with venue and on-site contacts
- Carry out end of day reporting routine
- Manage staff scheduling – shifts and break times - with Supervisors and Retail Manager.
- Train new team members as required
- Delegating staff roles and assigning shop floor positions to maximize team skills. Promote a strong sense of teamwork.
- Work closely with the sales staff and supervisors to maintain the sales area, both merchandise and the physical space, photo op and Butterbeer counter.
- Ensure staff uniforms and presentation are up to standard and that Retail supervisor has implemented a cleaning roster
- Beginning of shift/day: Arrive on selling floor ready, ensure floor is ready for customers
- End of shift/day: Ensure selling floor is replenished and ready for the next day
Inventory site management
- Ensuring product in store and storage is well maintained and accounted for, performing inventory counts as and when requested
- Responsible for following all goods receiving procedures and requirements
- Work closely with the photo and F&B team and assist with position cover
- Troubleshoot any connection issues, or POS issues with remote assistance
- Executes corporate directed price changes and markdowns
- Ensure operation of Butterbeer stand including following local H&S requirements and cleaning protocols
- Any other tasks as assigned by Neon Retail Management.
Required Education and Experience:
- A minimum of 2 year in a retail management or similar related position
- Preferably certified with a food safety hygiene certification.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule, weekends and evenings
- Knowledge of POS systems
- Must be able to perform all retail and F&B floor functions.
- Stock/retrieve merchandise, lift/push/pull 10-15 kgs and unload shipments.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, effective communication with all management and staff.
- Willing to work in and promote a team-oriented environment, show a positive attitude & take responsibility for own actions
- Computer literacy and confidence, particularly with Excel
- Strong eye for detail and numbers
