ABOUT THE ROLE | WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING
As a Finance Executive, you will play a crucial role in overseeing financial operations and making strategic decisions to ensure the company’s financial health and sustainability. Reporting to the Finance Manager, your responsibilities will include:
In the area of Bookkeeping, you will:
- Maintain accurate records of financial transactions.
- Record daily transactions, including accounts payable and receivable.
- Manage general ledger entries.
- Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies.
In the area of Financial Reporting and Analysis, you will:
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Reconcile bank statements and track deposits and payments.
- Participate in financial audits.
- Assist with budget preparation.
- Review and implement financial policies.
For Cash Flow Management, your tasks will involve:
- Monitoring cash flow statements.
- Ensuring compliance with tax and financial reporting standards.
Regarding Governance and Compliance, you will:
- Ensure compliance with Charity Accounting Standards (CAS).
- Submit timely reports to authorities.
- Review and recommend improvements to internal control policies and procedures.
Your role also includes engaging with stakeholders:
- Collaborate with Board Directors, Finance Committee, Audit Committee, Auditing Firms, financial institutions, corporate donors, vendors, and government agencies.
- Support the Board and CEO in corporate secretariat and board management matters.
Lastly, you’ll contribute to building a high-quality workplace and fostering a positive work culture for the organization. You may also be required to work on other assigned projects as directed by the Board and Management.
REQUIREMENTS | WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Technical Competencies
- Diploma or Associate Degree in Accounting or its equivalent professional qualifications
- Competent with accounting software modules like QuickBooks
- Good understanding of basic accounting principles
- General experience & knowledge in IT applications
Core Competencies
- Strong numeracy skills and attention to detail to ensure accuracy in data entry, reconciliations and other accounting tasks
- Organised, self-driven and able to multi-task well under pressure
- Collaborative, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Achievements / Characteristics
- At least 2-3 years of relevant work experience in an accounting role, preferably in the social services sector
- Familiar with Singapore Charity Accounting Standards & Corporate Governance for Social Service organisations
- Experience in doing finance/accounting work in other charities
