Key Responsibilities:
- Answering to the Fleet Managers of Vetting and Marine & Security.
- Examine reports on safety, near misses, incidents/accidents, PSC inspections, SIRE/CDI inspections, and internal audits. As needed, provide vessels with guidance on issues pertaining to marine activities.
- Plan the application of SOLAS, MARPOL, STCW, Class, Flag State, Oil Major, and other related regulations on boats while keeping an eye on their evolving modifications.
- Perform shipboard internal audits. Determine what needs to be improved upon and confirm that the preventive and corrective measures are being implemented.
- Officer and crew trainings should be planned and executed.
- Evaluate the success of onboard safety, environmental, and security drills.
- Examine and address safety and other reports from vessels that you receive.
- Evaluate officers and provide recommendations for action.
- Help the fleet manager, HSE, and compliance with matters pertaining to maritime and ship safety.
- Conduct management audits and find problems that could affect quality control.
- To determine if they are qualified for promotion or selection, interview deck officers.
- Perform inquiries into events or mishaps while on board when designated by the Head of Marine Assurance.
- Communicate with all relevant parties, including suppliers, ship owners, oil majors, classes, and other interested parties.
Qualifications:
- Master Mariner having at least 1-2 years of experience as a Master aboard LPG, Ethane, and Ethylene-powered vessels.
- Shore experience is not necessary.
- The capacity to travel on short notice and lead a round-the-clock on-call lifestyle.
- Capacity to create, enhance, and put into practice technical vessel management procedures that are both economical and safe.
