DIRECTOR - BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

Position Overview:
As the Business Development Director, you will be at the forefront of our growth initiatives. Your role will involve leading the design and execution of comprehensive business development strategies to expand our presence in existing markets and explore new opportunities. You will play a pivotal role in building strategic partnerships, driving market share growth through Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) and Joint Ventures (JV), and working collaboratively across functions to achieve our organizational objectives.


Key Responsibilities:

Market Expansion & Client Acquisition:

  • Identify and cultivate new corporate clients in Japan, focusing on expanding business into Southeast Asia, including facilitating fundraising through IPOs and M&A.
  • Secure and onboard new corporate clients seeking incorporation and accounting services in Southeast Asia.

Strategic Alliances & Partnerships:

  • Develop and execute strategic alliances with corporate partners, particularly within local marketing groups, to promote our services in Japan.
  • Lead negotiations and finalize business agreements with partners, suppliers, and vendors aligned with our market expansion strategies.

Leadership & Team Management:

  • Manage and mentor a team of business development professionals, setting clear annual sales targets, budgets, and headcount goals.
  • Lead and inspire your team to meet and exceed objectives, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration.

Sales & Marketing Strategy:

  • Develop and implement targeted sales and marketing strategies, with a strong emphasis on corporate sales channels to maximize revenue and market presence.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Work closely with other Departments to engage new target customer segments and deliver tailored solutions that meet client needs.

Market Analysis & Strategic Planning:

  • Conduct market research to understand the competitive landscape and business environment, using insights to guide strategic planning.
  • Formulate and execute plans for entering new markets and expanding in existing ones, ensuring optimal resource allocation.

M&A, JV, & Partnerships:

  • Evaluate business opportunities and regional relationships to increase market share through M&A, JV, and strategic partnerships.
  • Lead negotiations for M&A and JV deals, from proposal conversion to deal closure, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives.
  • Perform cost-benefit analyses of potential deals, ensuring profitable outcomes.

Client & Industry Relations:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and industry partners, positioning the Company as a market leader.

Continuous Improvement & Strategic Alignment:

  • Regularly review and refine business development strategies to align with overall corporate goals and respond to emerging market trends.
  • Oversee due diligence processes for M&A and JV deals, ensuring thorough risk assessment and alignment with strategic objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in any field; MBA preferred.
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in Business Development or Sales management, including 5 years of working experience in Japan.
  • Proven track record of driving revenue growth through business development, sales, and M&A.
  • Proficiency in Japanese is highly desirable.
  • Extensive network and deep understanding of target markets.
  • Strong business acumen with exceptional sales, negotiation, and people management skills.
  • Superior written, oral, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex ideas effectively.
  • Executive presence with the ability to quickly establish credibility and demonstrate leadership.
  • Analytical and strategic thinker with the ability to foresee market potential and develop innovative growth strategies.
  • Highly motivated, results-driven, and resilient, with a proven ability to overcome obstacles and achieve goals.
