The Assistant Contracts Manager (CM) will lead and manage a team of Quantity Surveyors in the administration and review of procurement and contract management. This role involves reviewing contract documents, providing cost estimates on tenders, preparing and monitoring project cost budgets and cash flows, tracking changes in design and construction work, and overseeing main contract progress claims and subcontract payments, including variation claims.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of Quantity Surveyors in contract administration
- Review and analyze contract documents to provide accurate cost estimates on tenders
- Prepare and monitor project cost budgets and cash flows, ensuring accuracy and compliance
- Track changes in design and construction work, and adjust budget projections accordingly
- Oversee and manage main contract progress claims and subcontract payment processes
- Evaluate and process variation claims, ensuring proper documentation and justification
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in contract management or quantity surveying
- Strong knowledge of procurement processes and contract law
- Proficiency in cost estimation and budget management
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective leadership and team management abilities
