Job Title: Assistant Manager, Casting (ID4545)

Working Hours: Mon to Fri 8.00am-5.30pm
Salary: $4000-$6000
Key Job Accountabilities:
• Support casting costing, review technical and quality specifications.
• Lead investment casting part development, process development, and scrap reduction.
• Improve casting defect levels for existing products and new product development.
• Support the implementation of automation in manufacturing and casting simulation software for designing gating systems for new and existing parts.
• Oversee all casting process operations leading to sound casting parts, including reviewing wax tooling, patterns injection, wax assembly gating systems, ceramic shell production, dewaxing, firing, pouring, finishing, and special heat treatment, NDT, surface treatment, and machining.
• Identify, develop, and implement manufacturing processes and productivity improvement projects within the investment casting operations to enhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness and to achieve better quality.
• Understand casting metallurgy, gating systems, and process parameters for overseeing processes and working to maintain optimization of the production line.
• Ensure that the manufacturing of final investment casting parts meets aerospace quality standards.
• Provide technical reviews for tooling design and SolidCAM used in precision machining.
• Establish industry 4.0 automation robotic processes, including project planning, cost budgeting, ROI review, resource allocation, technical review, and timeline management.
• Train and mentor engineers to support their career development and instill a sense of urgency in engineering activities for the manufacturing business.
• Foster sustainability projects to implement energy savings, a culture of lean, and industry waste reduction.
• Prepare engineering review presentations for reporting to senior management.
• Work closely with the HODs to plan, coordinate, and execute manufacturing projects related to investment casting and precision wax tooling design.
• Liaise with other departments, including production, quality, and process planning, to ensure smooth operations and effective problem-solving.
• Perform other duties as directed by the senior management.
Required Experience and Qualifications:
• Minimum 7-10 years of engineering experience in INVESTMENT CASTING is required.
• Familiarity with aerospace material investment casting techniques, including aluminum (A356, C355, F357), Stainless Steel (17-4PH, 15-5PH,347) and Superalloys (Nickel-Base Equiaxed)
• Familiarity with casting metallurgy, non-destructive testing and Heat treatment processes is preferred.
• Experience in managing people and cost analysis is preferred
