Responsibility:

• Assist Project Manager in project planning and to coordinate and oversee all works on site
• Ensure all the relevant technical details are resolved for smooth execution of works
• Coordinate the inspection of works by Resident Engineer and Resident Technical Officer
• Prepare regular project and test summary reports to provide clear insights into project progress and milestones.
• Handling of technical and engineering problems
• Liaison with client's representative and consultants

Requirements:

• Minimum a degree in Civil/Structural Engineering recognised by the respective Professional Bodies, professional institutions or BCA
• Minimum 5 years working experience in building construction
• Use of Autocad would be an advantage
• Proficient in using Microsoft Office and familiar with Microsoft Project
• Good communicative skills, able to interact with people of all levels and teamwork

Job Description & Requirements:

• Able to use 2D&3D AutoCAD software and to draw A1 drawings.
• Able to create and store technical lifts drawings electronically.
• Familiar with construction projects.
• Good planning, leadership and problem solving skills is required.
• To visit the site to monitor the progress of the job, record achievements and report back to office.
• To hold meetings with owner, sub-contractors, architects, consultants and workers for the project.
• To write site progress report and email to all related parties.
• To oversees the project and handover the lift smoothly to the respective parties.
• To do the submissions and lodgement to the authorities.
• To do the administrative jobs such as customer service, administrative duties and other ad-hoc duties as assigned.

About the role

As a Marine Surveyor – Engineer, you will be responsible in dealing with the investigation into machinery and propulsion problems and rendering advice to principals. The work is extremely varied and makes demands on your intellectual and analytical capabilities as well as your knowledge in the field of maritime operations and shipping.

The ideal candidate should:

1. Carry out a wide range of surveys for P&I Clubs and H&M underwriters related to machinery and propulsion problems using specialist knowledge and experience.
2. Prepare relevant reports on types of surveys conducted, recommended actions and repairs, or conditions remedied.
3. Assess or recommend the time and value of the work to be undertaken for an external client, assisting in identifying the most appropriate fee and cost structure.
4. Ensure reports are prepared to a high quality within budget and contractual requirements.
5. Submit reports to client within given timescale.
6. Actively looking for new survey opportunities in order to grow the BMT market share in the region
7. Support the regional BD team
8. Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, accreditation schemes, legislation, and industry standards.
9. Ensure safety requirements are understood and adhered to at all times.
10. Pursue Continuous Professional Development and maintain a high degree of discipline, knowledge and awareness.

In addition to these duties, the post holder may be required to carry out such other duties as may reasonably be required, from time to time, to achieve the above role purpose

In terms of location, you will be working in the Singapore Office located at Alexandra Road and we are happy to share that we are currently working on a hybrid model of working where employees enjoy the flexibility to choose to work in the office or from home. However, due to the nature of this role, please note that travel to customer sites or to attend meetings will be required from time to time.

About you

• The role requires the ability to carry out a flexible work pattern around job requirements as well as the ability to travel and at short notice
• Have sound marine, technical and engineering knowledge
• Preferably sailing experience (at least) as a Second Engineer of ocean-going vessels and hold minimum Class 2 Motor Foreign-going Certificate of Competence
• Preferably sailing experience on Containers and tankers – Oil and Gas (LPG or LNG)
• Have sound knowledge of the various types of propulsion system – Gas and Steam turbines, Diesel and other non-conventional fuels.
• Well versed in the operation and maintenance of various machinery items on an ocean-going vessel – generator, boiler, purifiers, heat exchangers, pumps etc.
• Be a team player as well as being able to work autonomously
• Have excellent written and spoken command knowledge in English
• Be flexible (no nine-to-six mentality) and representative

· Monitor and report to Project Manager of project details such as progress, resources requirement, risks and potential issues and lapses.

· Be responsible for implementation of the scope of works in conformance with project specifications, drawings and in accordance with the approved Project Schedule.

· Work closely with consultants and coordinate activities of various trade sub-contractors and specialists to ensure smooth site operation.

· Comply with company’s ISO and GGBS requirement and assist WSHO / ECO for external auditing exercise.
