We are on a mission to drive and expand Onitsuka Tiger’s global business and become the most iconic premium lifestyle brand. As we are in the midst of building a strong finance function to expand our business in Southeast Asia, we require an Assistant Finance Manager to proactively participate in this activity. This position is responsible for strengthening the finance function of Onitsuka Tiger SEA, working closely with the Business Management department of Onitsuka Tiger headquarters, as well as aligning with the business strategies and initiatives as a team member of Onitsuka Tiger SEA
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare and present accurate and timely financial statements and reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Lead the budgeting and forecasting processes for the region, collaborating with Onitsuka Tiger SEA Regional Director and the Business Management department of HQ to develop and monitor budgets and forecasts.
- Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes, including preparing and reviewing journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals.
- Use financial analysis to provide insights and recommendations to the members of Onitsuka Tiger SEA and the Business Management department of HQ, contributing to the growth and profitability of the business in the SEA region.
- Collaborate with other teams to identify and implement process improvements, including streamlining financial reporting and developing financial controls.
- Follow direction from the Business Management department of HQ related to financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis, and provide regular updates on progress and performance to them.
- Collaborate with the Business Management department of HQ to ensure consistency in financial reporting and analysis across the organization.
- Ensure compliance with local laws and regulations related to finance and accounting, including tax compliance and financial reporting requirements.
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners, including auditors and tax advisors.
- Manage the team and provide guidance and support as needed, including coaching and development of team members.
- Support the Business Management department of HQ on ad-hoc projects and initiatives as needed.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- At least 10 years of experience in a finance or accounting role.
- Strong understanding of finance and accounting principles and practices.
- Experience in a global organization and familiarity with international accounting standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in English and Japanese for effective communication with HQ
- Experience in retail industries such as fashion (apparel/footwear) and beauty is preferred.
