Your Role

Mighty Jaxx is looking for a Software Engineer Intern to join the Engineering team in an exciting website revamp project.

We are looking for a full-time intern, who is able to join us from May 2024 onwards, ideally for a period of minimum of 3 months.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with product managers, tech leads, and individual contributors to support application engineering teams
• Take ownership of assigned tasks and features
• Contribute to technical discussions
• Participate in the development of development tasks under the guidance of senior developers
• Learn from and be mentored by senior engineers, and actively seek guidance to progress in your career goals
• Contribute to the tracking of key metrics for quality and team performance, and help drive continuous improvement
• Communicate project status, challenges, and opportunities to the team lead

Requirements

• Currently pursuing Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field of study
• Strong understanding of full-stack development concepts and experience in developing web applications
• Solid foundation in software development with at least one programming language (e.g., JS, TS, React and or NextJS)
• Familiarity with backend development using Node.js
• Knowledge of software engineering principles and the ability to apply them in practical scenarios
• Good problem-solving skills and the ability to articulate technical concepts clearly
• Experience building REST APIs
• Understanding of test-driven development principles and experience with unit testing frameworks is advantageous

· Provide ongoing supervision for all civil and structural works to ensure compliance with Authority's Requirements, including but not limited to:

· Temporary Works such as excavation, strutting, earth retaining and stabilizing structures (ERSS), and ground improvement if necessary.

· Utility diversions, protection works, and supports for utilities if necessary. Management of risk registers, hazard logs, etc.

· Mobilization and demobilization of vehicles, machinery, and equipment. Cable preparation, cable pulling works, etc.

· Construction of Joint Bays and associated work. Cable jointing works in Joint Bays. Testing and commissioning works related to transmission cables.

· Prepare weekly summary reports on site management, highlighting safety issues and proposing improvements to the Company.

Requirements:

• Registered as a Resident Technical Officer with BCA/IES/ACES.
• Minimum of Two (2) years of relevant experience in projects similar in nature to the specified projects.

Job Description:

1. Oversees projects management and implementation;
2. Codify implementation design into documented for end user's record;
3. Conduct training and presentation for team members and end-users;
4. Provide technical testing or support to pre-sales engineer/customer on the network setup;
5. Assist on technical communications with customer/partner, to ensure closure of sales order;
6. Ensuring that the solution can deliver on the customer’s requirements;
7. Work closely with Level 2 support, if case issue is escalated to Level 3;
8. Maintain rapport with customers and competence in managing vendors; and
9. Any other ad-hoc duties assigned.

Job Requirement:

• Degree/Diploma in IT Networking or equivalent
• At least 2 years of work experience in a SI or distributor environment with network security skillset
• Good IT knowledge in OSI 7 Layer, TCP/IP, LAN/WAN technologies and network security
• Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision
• Excellent in communication and analytical skill
• Experience in network security projects implementation
• Positive working attitude and a good team player
• Willing to work extended office hours and after office hours when needed
• Exposure to security solution such as Firewall, local balancer or endpoint protection will be an added advantage
