ROLE DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

Join us as a Project Safety Engineer (PSE), where you will be responsible to perform systems safety engineering activities required to develop a safe solution (mainly a software), product or projects. In this role, you will apply your Safety Engineering skills within an interdisciplinary team covering all aspects of a system lifecycle.

KEY ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

As aProject Safety Engineer, you are accountable for:

As a Project Safety Engineer, you conduct safety engineering activities and produce the required artefacts on time, budget and quality for the allocated project / product.

This includes:

· Conducting a range of activities that identify and address safety hazards and risks by ensuring compliance to legislations, safety policies and the Thales Solution Safety Management System

· Developing and maintaining safety key artefacts: system safety program plans, safety case reports, hazard logs, risk assessments, preliminary system safety assessments and system safety assessments commensurate with the processes, standards and best practices employed by air traffic management domain including fault tree analysis and GSN

· Work closely with the engineering integrated product teams to identify, derive and manage safety requirements, ensure that they are included in the solution design baseline and that their compliance is demonstrated through verification & validation and developing effective mitigations and controls to hazards, procedure and/or training

· Provide timely safety subject matter expertise and engineering support. This includes participating and/or chairing system safety working groups, safety review boards and other safety committees and workshops as required

· Experience in the Systems Safety Engineering process in a safety critical industry such a Defence, Land Domain, Manufacturing, Vehicles, Railway, Aerospace, Nuclear or Oil & Gas

· Demonstrated experience applying industry best practice system safety analysis and operational risk management techniques and methodologies

· Proven track record of successfully leading the execution of system safety programs

• Responsible for timely technical clarification of changes to engineering drawings and other technical documents.
• Assist the structural manager to coordinate the cross-construction cooperation of various construction teams and professional subcontracts. Participate into the daily project safety management.
• Cooperate with the company's technical department and participate in the implementation of BIM and C-score.
• Coordination and on-site supervision of the concrete usage of the building, responsible/assist in completing the control and quality supervision of the prefabricated components, steel bars and other materials of the building; responsible for the structural material testing.

Requirement:

• Candidate must possess valid Degree in Civil Engineering recognized by Singapore IES / BCA and PE Board.

• Good track records & working experience with local A1 / A2 main contractors is required.

Senior Project Engineer – RC Structure (Precast & In-situ)

This role will be positioned on a construction site managing fabrication of precast concrete elements, delivery from Malaysia, on site erection and in-situ topping slabs and puddle pours.

Job Responsibilities

1. Report to and assist Construction Manager (CM) on project functions included but not limited to project site coordination, logistics, risk control management etc. to meet the project(s) goals.
2. Assist CM in project planning, implementation and to coordinate all RC related construction works on the project site are in accordance to the master and detailed work program.
3. Prepare delivery schedules for precast concrete elements (columns, beams, hollow core planks), carry out weekly inspections in Johor precast factory in coordination with QAQC team, coordinate delivery and stockpiling on site of precast elements.
4. Coordinate with design team and precast factory to manage and implement and design changes/additions (block outs, embeds etc) to the precast elements.
5. Prepare, plan and submit project related documents, such as schedules, method statement, design plan, risk assessment, monthly report, etc.
6. To supervise the execution of the RC construction works including but not limited to transfer of precast elements from stockpile yard to tower cranes, lifting/erection operations, coordination of topping slab and puddle pour in-situ works and ensure that the works are carried out in accordance with contract specification/bills of quantities, construction drawings, company’s quality standards, Environmental, Safety & Health (ESH) practices and all other contract documents.
7. Attend regular meetings with Client’s Representative, Consultants and/or Contractors and ensure the progress is on schedule.
8. Be responsible for any other duties that may be assigned from time to time as your superior/management deemed fit.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor Degree in Civil (or Structural) Engineering
• 6+ years experience in site work including precast and in-situ concrete work for RC structures and exposure to managing/coordinating fabrication of precast concrete.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills applied to planning for construction works.
• Excel spreadsheets and planning skills.
• Good negotiation, communication and subcontractor management skills.
• Resourceful, independent and able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Position Summary:

• Responsible to manage small scale maintenance, upgrading and efficiency improvement project with our clients, starting from conceptual study, FEED, estimation, Detail engineering and execution till commissioning.
• Responsible for engineering activities such as FEED, detail design, vendor print review etc, for static and furnace engineering.
• Responsible for after sales activities for established clients and completed projects. This includes participating in planned, periodic, breakdown and shutdown maintenance, spare parts management and advisory services on technical issues.
• Key account holder for the established clients for all after sales activities.

Responsibilities:

Project Management: 60%

• Responsible for managing and executing a small-scale project for existing and established clients. This includes but not limited to spare parts supply, technical discussions, conceptual studies, FEED engineering and development of small-scale maintenance projects.
• Execution of brown field projects and vendor supervisors to support their operation and maintenance activities for Chemical Plants. This includes planned, periodic, breakdown and shutdown maintenance, spare parts management and advisory services on technical issues

• Conceptual design of static and package (furnace) equipment with the support of discipline engineers.

• Selection of vendor / fabricator and pre-qualification.
• Conduct technical/ clarification meetings with vendors / Contractors to finalize the design.

After Sales: 10%

• Responsible for arrangement of vendor and in-house supervisors for any maintenance jobs.
• Work hand in hand with client for root cause analysis and providing expertise to the recurring problems, hence ensuring smooth operation.
• Participate in technical discussions and work.
• Support the estimation process for small scale projects such as modification, rectification, capacity up, process improvement for existing clients
