The Tax Manager/Tax Executive plays an essential role within the APAC Tax team, working with the Tax Managers on direct tax and Base Erosion and Profit Shifting (“BEPS”) related compliance for the APAC region, as well as serving as a key liaison between the APAC Tax team and cross-functional business stakeholders on various global and regional tax projects.

Responsibilities: 

1. Corporate Tax Compliance and BEPS

• Prepare tax schedules and managing tax compliance reporting and payment deadlines and other related matters for approximately 30 entities within the APAC region, including working with external tax consultants and reviewing their deliverables.
• Prepare monthly tax provisions for Singapore entities.
• Prepare and liaise with external tax consultants on Tax Risk Management & Control Framework for Corporate Income Tax (“CTRM”) for Singapore and similar Corporate Tax Governance Framework for the APAC region.
• Prepare responses to information requests by tax authorities.
• Assist with the implementation of BEPS-related compliance and processes for the APAC region, including collaborating with cross-functional teams to streamline existing processes and systems.
• Collaborate with IT teams and/or external system developers to translate business/tax requirements into IT solutions, as well as to test and implement tax technology solutions for BEPS-related compliance.
• Prepare training materials for cross-functional teams and users on process change improvements ensuring awareness and adherence to BEPS requirements.
• Keep abreast of changes and/or developments in tax laws and administrative practices for APAC, including BEPS-related developments, and analyse the corresponding implications.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of work processes and internal controls/procedures for corporate tax and BEPS compliance for the APAC region.

1. Corporate Tax Advisory

• Advise on corporate tax matters, optimize the Group’s tax position and identify potential tax savings opportunities for the APAC region.
• Participate in various global and regional tax projects, including tax automation initiatives.
• Participate in tax incentive initiatives including liaising with the relevant government agencies and monitoring compliance with tax incentive conditions.

The position is responsible for coordinating and administrating among rooms division team and correspondence with internal and external stakeholders, organization of the divisional work flow, follow-through on pending projects. He/she is to be a part of various aspect of operation in the delivery of the Raffles Singapore service experience throughout the entire guest journey.

Primary Responsibilities

Manages Administration and General

• Ensures Rooms Division’s smooth daily operation by performing all tasks in adherence with the code of ethics as issued by Raffles Singapore.
• Oversees the daily occurrence of departmental expenses for better control and oversight for the end-of-month profit and loss reconciliation.
• Co-ordinates with colleagues and representatives of other departments to ensure an efficient flow of communication, assists departmental head with administrative duties whenever required/appropriate.
• Ensures all correspondences, messages, e-mails are responded in timely manner, disseminated accordingly, and remains confidential about all matters of such nature.

Executes Core Tasks of Guest Assistance

• Delivers the Raffles Singapore guest experience through a pre & post stay guest correspondence and handling guest inquiry.
• Upholds a flawless impression and perception of the Raffles Singapore products and colleagues.

Deals with Supplier and Maintains Contracts

• Takes responsibility for maintaining contracts related to Rooms division and deals with suppliers when modification is necessary.
• Handles all appointments and keeps track of diaries assigned.

Seeks Constant Improvement of Quality in Product and Services

• Ensures personal awareness of the activities and services within the hotel in order to promote the property and is responsive to guest inquiries.
• Ensures all work is followed as detailed in Standard Operation Procedures (SOP), Raffles Singapore Local Standard Operation Procedure (LSOP).
• Leads the handling and follow up on any security incident, guest complaint, and colleague injured together with the Lobby Manager and always reinforces hotel values.
• Responds to guest feedback and TripAdvisor reviews.
• Adheres to Work Safety and Health (WSH) policies and procedures and ensures all direct reports and peers are trained in and follow WSH guidelines.
• Contributes to the hotel’s Corporate Social Responsibility efforts.

OVERVIEW

The News Assistant provides support to the show production teams assisting with cutting video, building graphics, basic segment production and guest booking. This role is ideal for candidates looking for entry into a career in journalism and TV news production with a keen interest in business, economics, and financial markets. You will also begin to learn about business and markets and the fundamentals for journalism.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Write basic scripts for TV news
• Research news stories
• Transcribe live interviews
• Build graphics using CNBC’s in-house applications and liaise with the Graphics team for guidance
• Work with video editors to cut videos to match news scripts
• Prepare elements such as video clips, lower-thirds, soundbites etc for show segments
• Efficiently manage the teleprompter for on-air talents during live programming
• Being involved in creation of show segments – share, discuss and/or pitch ideas

Your assignment

• You provide support in assessing product conditions, recovery work, furniture assembly and general maintenance of your work areas.
• You will be expected to carry out data entry documenting of the returned items into the internal inventory systems and assist in ensuring that the products are properly priced and displayed in accordance with safety and sale mechanism guidelines.
• You will be responsible for pricing As-is labelling, assembling furniture, waste and disposal management and assist customers with their product enquiries.
• Be always aware of customers when on the shop floor and prioritise offering them the help and advice.
• Work within the store to ensure that internal damages are minimised, and Recovery department supported.
• Strive to minimise financial loss of damaged in the store and try to maximise the financial recovery by repacking and moving goods back to stock or assemble, price and sell goods in the As-Is shop;
• Assist to assemble products for Store themes and handle quality claims of quality issues furniture.
• Contribute to the daily and weekly sales targets which ensure the delivery of the Recovery action plans and thus achieving the goals.
