About the role

The Asia-Pacific Trading Desk consists of a multitude of different, mainly interlinked, trading desks including Power, Fuels, Steel and Petrochemical Complex teams in Singapore, as well as trading teams situated in China, Japan and Indonesia looking after domestic products in the respective countries.

The role will sit in the Fuels Complex team. We are an established team who have traded thermal coal in the Pacific for over ten years, we are looking for an analyst to improve and add to our current capabilities.

The main focus of the work will be on thermal coal but there is the option to explore related energy products within the region.

• With resources at hand, you will construct fundamental analysis around commodities and their markets, linking relevant commodities across key regions globally
• Ultimately, you will connect insights from analysis to drive commercial impact via contributions to trading strategies.
• You will have access to a wide range of analysis tools and in-house database

Job requirements and experience

• Motivated individual, able to work independently in a fast paced trading environment.
• Background in numerical discipline including but not limited to Engineering, Economics, Finance, Computer Science, Mathematics, Business Analytics
• Experience working with data platforms, large datasets and some knowledge of and experience using SQL and Python. Other programming languages are a bonus but not a requirement.
• Experience with analysis development, from data sourcing, structuring your analysis approach, to delivering visualisation or modelling results.
• Able to express your views and findings on the market to the trading team in a concise and timely manner.

Position Overview: We are seeking a motivated and analytical Junior Commercial Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will support the development and implementation of market strategies by analyzing market trends, competitor activities, and industry dynamics within the LNG sector. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical background, a keen interest in energy markets, and the ability to translate data into actionable insights.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct research on LNG market trends, pricing, demand-supply dynamics, forecasts, and regulatory developments. Analyze market data and reports to identify trends and opportunities.
• Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including operation and finance, to support market-related initiatives and ensure alignment with company goals.
• Support LNG or gas sales agreement term-sheet negotiations by preparing confidentiality agreements; arranging the meetings; developing and maintaining the meeting records and other such tasks needed to support the progress of a negotiation, as directed by the lead negotiator.
• Support the lead negotiator in the preparation of initial review drafts of sales agreements or term sheets as well as follow up the version management and comment tracking of the document through the negotiation process.
• Responsible for the approval documentation and the execution logistics of LNG or gas sales agreements through the authorised signatories (senior management).
• Supports the maintenance of internal controls, tools and procedures such as updating databases; performing controls checks and filing of deal documentation.
• Support the customer relationship management process by contributing to the customer database and meeting records as well as the logistics arrangements for customer visits up to senior management level.

Qualifications:

HR/Administrative/Financial Assistant is responsible for supporting the company's daily human resources, administrative and financial operations to ensure the smooth progress of various affairs. I. Main Responsibilities

1. Human Resources Support

· Assist in the implementation of the recruitment process, including posting recruitment information, screening resumes, arranging interviews, following up on recruitment progress, etc.
