Investment Services Private Markets
We manage deal structuring, due diligence and closing. We provide financial operations to GIC’s private equity, infrastructure, and real estate assets, as well as tax structuring, corporate holding structures, valuations, and financial reporting.
Finance & Accounting
You will help to provide financial deal due diligence, financial controllership, treasury and funding, valuation management, investment operations, accounting, financial reporting, and special purpose vehicle management for GIC’s investments.
What impact can you make in this role?
You will be part of a team that provides investment services on private equity, real estate, infrastructure, and cross-strategy investments.
The incumbent will be responsible for overseeing the valuation process design, implementation, and monitoring within the Finance & Accounting team. The individual will partner with the valuation specialist team to ensure that all valuations are accurate and timely. The role requires a deep understanding of valuation methodologies and valuation operations/processes.
What will you do as an VP in Valuations?
- Work closely with the valuation specialist team to ensure valuation policy and guidelines are implemented consistently, timely, and accurately within the Finance & Accounting team
- Develop, implement, and maintain effective controls and oversight over key valuation controls and processes
- Establish key valuation metrics to facilitate oversight of adherence to key MV controls and highlight potential operational risk areas that need to be addressed
- Lead and coordinate independent valuation reviews to ensure accurate and reliable valuations before official month-end reporting
- Organize and conduct training requirements for the Finance & Accounting team for changes in valuation processes as well as for refresher purposes
- Provide inputs to the design of the valuation module of our in-house system
- Stay up-to-date with market trends, regulatory requirements, and best practices related to valuation
What qualifications or skills should you possess in this role?
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field
- At least 7 years of experience in a related valuation control / valuation operation function
- Self-starter who takes initiative to learn, identify valuation control issues and work towards resolving them with the stakeholders
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage a team and work collaboratively with other stakeholders
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
