Job Title: Research Assistant for Participatory Action Research Project Implementation

Project: Seniors Action for Greater Empowerment (SAGE) Programme

Overview: The Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health (SSHSPH), NUS, is seeking a Research Assistant with relevant experience to support the research and implementation of the Seniors Action for Greater Empowerment (SAGE) programme. SAGE aims to support initiatives that promote well-being and resilient ageing for seniors in Singapore, particularly focusing on lower socioeconomic communities. Working together with government, non-profit, and grassroots organizations, SAGE will empower older adults to actively participate in community development, fostering mental, social, and physical well-being. The chosen candidate will undertake a support role in running formative research for SAGE, including Participatory Action Research (PAR), the development and validation of instruments and approaches, and evaluation of community capacities. Following this, the candidate will be involved in implementing and evaluating the identified SAGE programmes planned together with the seniors.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct quantitative data analysis, from descriptive to predictive analytics, using software such as Stata, R, or SPSS.
• Assist in mixed-methods research and program evaluations.
• Collaborate with community partners and stakeholders to ensure effective project implementation.
• Manage project administration, including tracking milestones, budgets, and service contracts with key partners.
• Write progress reports for donors, synthesizing inputs from the team.
• Coordinate and organize community events.
• Apply creative problem-solving to address challenges in a fast-paced implementation environment.
• Ensure smooth day-to-day operations of the SAGE programme.

Qualifications

• Degree with training in public health, social sciences, health communication
• Trained in conducting quantitative data analysis and/or mixed-methods research
• Familiarity or experience of working with older people

Desirable Skills:

• Experience or knowledge of program evaluation and qualitative research
• Experience of working with community-based organisations
• Experience in working with survey companies and data collection teams to coordinate longitudinal data collection
• Strong interpersonal skills for negotiating with project partners and managing deliverables.
• Proficiency in project management, budget tracking

The mission of the TikTok Eng-AI Innovation Center is to explore cutting-edge AGI technologies, including but not limited to LLM, multi-modal LLM (video/image/audio/text/code), etc., to let machine better understand user creations on TikTok platform. Regarding to video/image/audio/text, enhanced content understanding can bring better user experience of searching, recommendation, and can more accurately identify and defend internet abuse and fraud on our platform. 1. Participate in the design and implementation of a high-availability, scalable, distributed large-model machine learning platform to support the development and efficient iteration of large models for TikTok;

Qualifications

Minimum Qualification

Job Description

• Provide teaching and learning support to teachers, for example, preparation of resources / materials for Science laboratory activities and enrichment programme.
• Label and keep records of existing and new Science teaching and learning materials and lab resources such as teachers’ desk copies, reference books, lab apparatus and chemicals etc.
• Maintain loan records of Science Resources.
• Pack and organise the resources in the Science Rooms. Ensure that the Science rooms are clean and conducive for lessons.
• Ensure lab equipment, materials and specimens are in good working conditions. Conduct stock-take at least twice a year.
• Maintain a stock book and breakage record to initiate ordering of replacements where necessary.
• Ensure proper disposal of waste materials such as sharp waste objects and chemicals.
• Ensure safety of pupils in the Science rooms. Report any incident to Science HOD/ Level Head. Maintain a laboratory incident log book.
• Check that first aid box is updated, safety devices in the laboratory, such as emergency eye-washers, showers and fire extinguishers are working.
• Provide administrative / logistical support for Science competitions, assessments and programmes collation of survey results and distribution of Science materials to pupils etc.
• Assist in carrying out safety briefings such as Laboratory Safety, equipment awareness (e.g. Microscopes).

Requirements

• Diploma in Science or its equivalent
• At least one year experience in assisting HOD-Science in the execution of daily Science Laboratory Operational and Administrative duties.
