We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Finance Manager to join our Singapore team in the precious metals recycling industry. This role is crucial in overseeing and managing all financial operations, ensuring accurate reporting, and maintaining compliance with industry regulations and accounting standards.

Responsibilities

Financial Management and Reporting

• Oversee and manage the entire financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
• Prepare and analyse financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
• Develop and implement effective financial strategies, policies, and procedures to streamline operations and improve profitability.
• Conduct financial forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis to support strategic decision-making.
• Ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (IFRS), industry regulations, and internal control policies.

Cost and Inventory Management

• Manage and monitor the cost of precious inventory, including tracking market prices and fluctuations.
• Develop and implement inventory management strategies to optimize inventory levels and minimize carrying costs.
• Analyse and report on inventory valuation, turnover, and profitability.
• Collaborate with procurement and production teams to ensure efficient inventory management and cost control.

Risk Management

• Oversee the implementation and maintenance of internal controls and risk management policies.

• Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting to internal and external stakeholders, including senior management, and regulatory bodies.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field, preferrably CPA.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in a finance management and supervisory role, preferably in the recycling industry.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting standards, and GST regulations.
• Proficiency in financial analysis, forecasting, and budgeting.

Core responsibilities

Budget Development and Management:

• Lead the medium to long term planning of capital and operational budgets in collaboration with Corporate Service Chiefs and Department Heads

Grant Management (Matching Grants):

• Develop and implement strategies to maximise matching grant opportunities
• Create and maintain systems to track matching grant requirements and deadlines
• Oversee accounting for all matching grant transactions
• Maintain thorough documentation of all matching grant transactions and decisions
• Ensure compliance with matching grant regulations and reporting requirements and liaise with relevant government agencies as required
• Coordinate with external auditors for any grant-specific audits or reviews

Team Leadership and Development:

• Ensure that established financial policies, guidelines and procedures are adhered to and consistently applied
• Provide financial guidance and support to departments across the organisation
• Supervise and mentor finance staff
• Facilitate training workshops to disseminate knowledge to internal team members and external stakeholders

Majestic Rock Resources is a trading company that trades iron ore and steel related commodities. Our paper trading team is looking for a quantitative analyst to explore and deploy more strategies. As a quantitative analyst, you will learn our backtesting framework by testing your own strategy and refining our existing strategies. We consider fundamental factors and macroeconomic factors and combine them with technical indicators to generate trading signals.

Starting with your internship, we will provide a 1 week on-board training to introduce you our backtesting tools and database. We will teach the basic knowledge for the commodities we trade, mainly iron ore. After that, you will start a 3 month intern period during which you will be given a simulated account, and your goal is to make 20% profit using your own or our existing strategies based on your backtesting and research. If your performance is good enough, we will hire you as a full time quantitative trader and provide you the access to real account. You will be able to earn bonus based on your performance.

Requirements:

1. You are an undergraduate or graduate student from mathematics, computer science, or computer engineering. Other majors are also welcomed but coding skill is required.
