• Oversee and review the work done by the finance team and perform variance analysis and commentaries.
• Provide support to business unit managers with necessary financial reports and analysis in terms of profitability and efficiency.
• Responsible for corporate taxation, review tax computation, and liaise with tax agents to manage the filing process.
• Handle tax-related submissions such as COR, withholding tax, and ad-hoc requests.
• Manage daily cash positions and monthly cash flows to assess each entity’s liquidity and ensure proper funding of ongoing operations and capital investment requirements.
• Manage treasury matters, including monitoring global currency markets for trends that could affect company positions, managing banking and forex activities, fixed deposit placements, and reviewing and analyzing banking transaction fees to identify cost reductions.
• Manage external relationships with bankers, corporate secretary, outsourced vendors, etc.
• Assist with procedures and sound internal controls, as well as the continuous review and improvement of work processes to provide efficiency to the finance section.
• Maintain and develop an efficient system of policies and procedures that impose an adequate level of control over treasury activities and provide support for regulatory reporting.
• Undertake other ad-hoc projects as assigned.

Job Summary

Accounting

Perform the various accounting and finance functions to ensure the institution’s financial resources are effectively managed, reconciled and accounted for in accordance with the agreed business objectives and policies and in a manner that fulfils the requirements of the relevant Acts, Regulations and Standards and organisational requirements that govern the institution’s operations.

HR

Perform various human resource activities, such as employment, compensation, labour relations, benefits, training and employee services.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. To update all financial transactions in the Accounting system and Student Management System
2. Assists the Accountant with the implementation of financial plans, objectives and strategies to contribute to the effective commercial management of the institution.
3. Assists the Accountant with the preparation of the institution’s budget and implement effective mechanisms for its ongoing review. Liaise with Departmental Heads and Managers to ensure expenditure is managed in accordance with budget procedures.
4. Performs the various financial accounting functions associated with formulation of financial statements, business reporting, statutory reports and filings (CPF, GST, Corporate Income Tax), management of the reconciliation process and other related accounting tasks in order to accurately account for all transactions carried out.
5. Assists in co-ordinating the annual audit of NAA’s financial records, filing of statutory returns.
6. Assists Accountant in corporate secretarial matters – prepare board resolutions, filing of annual report.
7. Manages staff payroll administration, issuance of employment letters, service contracts to Singapore based lecturers/tutors.
8. Manages the preparation and maintenance of staff training, performance reviews and reports as are necessary to carry out the functions of the HR department. Prepares periodic reports for management, as necessary or requested, to track strategic goal accomplishment.
9. To perform any other duties that the Accountant & HR Manager or CEO may instruct from time to time.

Requirements

1. Minimum Qualification: Diploma in Accounting or CPA qualifications
2. A working knowledge of the relevant financial accounting regulations, standards policies combined with a demonstrated ability to interpret and apply them.
3. Well-developed computer skills in the areas of computerised accounting systems, spread sheets and other associated computer software.
