Job Description

• Oversee day-to-day operations of the science laboratories and facilities.
• Assist students during Science lab lessons by stationing and moving around the lab.
• Collaborate with teachers to prepare resources for hands-on activities before lessons.
• Prepare equipment and materials for experiments, demonstrations, and hands-on activities.
• Maintain lab equipment, apparatus, materials, and specimens in good working condition.
• Report faulty equipment and machinery immediately.
• Keep a stock book and breakage record, and notify HOD Science for replacements.
• Prepare an annual inventory of stocks and notify HOD Science for purchases.
• Maintain usage records of materials and equipment.
• Ensure the lab environment is safe and tidy.
• Devise alternative hands-on activities when needed.
• Care for butterflies and chicks in the creature watch area.
• Support extra-curricular activities such as E2K and Green Club.
• Prepare and distribute teaching materials (e.g., desk copies) at the start of the year, and collect them at the end.
• Ensure safe storage and usage of chemicals with proper records.
• First Aid, CPR, and AED certification is preferred for the lab assistant.

Job Requirement

• A minimum of 3 years of company experience in handling manpower services, working in an educational institution providing Science lab assistance.

• An equivalent combination of education and work with a minimum GCE ‘O’ level academic qualification.

• Able to work independently AND has work experience of at least 3 years with Primary school children, age 8- 12 as a Science lab assistance
