Position: Asst. IT Manager (MNC)
Working Days & Hours: 5 days | Mon-Fri: 8am to 530pm
Working Location: Yio Chu Kang / Ang Mo Kio (Nearby MRT)
Basic: up to $7,000 + Transport allowance Claim: $550 + Leave: min 14 days
Probation: min 6 months
Responsibilities:
In essence, the deputy department manager serves as a key support to the department manager, helping to ensure the smooth functioning of the department and the achievement of its goals and objectives.
- Assisting in Leadership: Supporting the department manager in providing leadership and direction to departmental staff, fostering a positive work environment, and maintaining morale.
- Operational Oversight: Assisting in overseeing day-to-day operations within the department, ensuring that tasks are completed efficiently and in accordance with customer as well as organizational policies and procedures.
- Team Management: Coordinating with the department manager to manage and allocate tasks among team members, providing guidance and support as needed to ensure productivity and high performance.
- Financial Management: Assisting in budgeting and financial management activities, such as monitoring expenses, tracking revenue, and ensuring that the department operates within budgetary constraints.
- Staff Development: Supporting the department manager in identifying training and development needs for departmental staff, facilitating training programs, and promoting professional growth opportunities.
- Problem-solving and Decision-making: Assisting in identifying and addressing challenges or issues that arise within the department and collaborating with the department manager to make informed decisions and implement solutions.
- Continual Improvement: Contributing to efforts aimed at identifying opportunities for process improvements, innovation, and efficiency enhancements within the department, and actively participating in initiatives to implement changes as needed.
Requirement:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field; advanced certifications (e.g., MCSE, RHCE) preferred.
- Experience in managing enterprise Linux (SUSE Linux) and Windows server environments in a complex IT infrastructure.
- Strong understanding of high availability and fault-tolerant system architectures, with experience in clustering, load balancing, and failover mechanisms.
- Hands-on experience with SQL database maintenance.
- Familiarity with network protocols, routing, and firewall configuration, particularly with Palo Alto, McAfee, and Checkpoint appliances.
- Experience with storage area networks (SAN) and SAN storage solutions
- Knowledge of microsemi NTP (Network Time Protocol) for time synchronization across network devices.
- Manage a diverse range of hardware equipment, including Cisco switches, Sun Microsystems servers, HPE ProLiant DL series servers , and SAN storage solutions.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to effectively lead and motivate a diverse technical team.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving technical challenges.
