1. JOB PURPOSE
A leadership role which is a key member of the dnata Singapore leadership team being responsible for all aspects of dnata’s Ground Handling ‘GH’ Operations and the GH product (including Fleet, Maintenance and Marhaba).
The Head of Ground Handling ‘HoGH’ will be the champion of dnata’s people centred values leading by example, coaching, mentoring, and inspiring the GH teams with an entrepreneurial spirit, all aimed at optimizing our operational performance and firmly establishing dnata Singapore as the market leader in terms of Safety, Quality and Service.
With a passion for Service Excellence the HoGH will deliver a robust and sustainable GH product strategy in-line with the Singapore goals; to achieve the organization’s long-term vision of becoming the world’s most admired air service provider.
In a dynamic, post-pandemic operating environment, the HoGH will be confident to act with speed and conviction, maintaining a laser focus on Safe and Secure operations whilst driving a compelling employee value proposition that is universally respected within Aviation sector (alongside talent mapping, coaching & mentoring and performance management across the GH function).
Lastly the HoGH will have the Imagination to seize opportunities to Delight Customers through the optimisation and innovation of our GH products and services; Identifying opportunities to deliver organic business growth, entry into GH new markets, M&A and other major projects as required across the APAC region.
All within dnata’s global commitment to materially reduce emissions, consume responsibly and to protect wildlife and habitats, while promoting sustainability and environmental stewardship within the aviation sector.
2. JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES LINKED TO OBJECTIVE AREAS

- Delivery of dnata SIN GH profit and cash to group targets, securing a financially sustainable business.
- Act as a visionary leader, providing insights across all facets of the GH business, including market dynamics, commercial strategies, operations, and support functions, to shape a forward-thinking direction for our organization.
- Uphold the highest standards by ensuring policies, governance, and legal guidelines are effectively communicated and adhered to by all stakeholders, protecting our shareholder and brand value.
- Foster long-term, sustainable, trust-based relationships with customers, authorities, business partners, and relevant stakeholders, enhancing dnata's presence and reputation, both locally and globally.
- Partner with the MD SIN and other ‘Heads of’ to drive operational excellence and synergies, fostering a collaborative environment on a global scale.
- Elevate dnata as the preferred employer in the GH market, attracting top talent, and creating a dynamic workforce that embodies a global perspective.
- Coach, mentor, and inspire the GH Operational team, empower your direct reports, and hold them accountable, providing guidance and motivation to maximize performance, particularly in the context of digital transformation.
- Develop and execute innovative business plans to enhance direct labor cost-efficiency, in alignment with our strategic goal of 'mastering resource planning' and embracing technological advancements
- Identify, lead, and deliver crucial investment proposals, including major capital projects, new contracts, and ground-breaking start-ups, contributing to our regional growth and sustainability, while staying true to our commitment to environmental responsibility and corporate social responsibility (CSR).
- Contribute to our community-driven initiative, dnata4good, by personally investing through our Volunteer Day Program, supporting charities and community projects aligned with our charitable pillars
- Champion dnata's Environment Sustainability Framework, living our commitment to reducing emissions, responsible consumption, and the protection of wildlife and habitats, while promoting sustainability and environmental stewardship within the aviation sector
- Be our ambassador, representing dnata in a professional and brand-aligned manner, reflecting our values and business strategy in public speaking engagements and representational appearances
3. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS
- Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree plus a relevant post-graduate professional qualification or equivalent experience
- Experience Proven track record of exceptional performance and service delivery in travel services (or equivalent/adjacent sector e.g logistics) leadership role, including leading a team of senior, experienced professionals
- Having direct and full P&L ownership experience of a comparable size and complexity of business (circa 500 employees and USD100M revenue) inc a proven track record of delivering profitable financial results within a commoditised marketplace
- Bringing an established and mature professional network, reputation and personal (personable) brand
- Knowledge/skills: Strong influencing skills and a proven ability to deal at all levels within a global business, combined with a sound knowledge of effective business leadership best practice
- Outstanding analytical and problem-solving abilities
