Project Description and Components:

This role focuses on driving the global expansion strategy and coordinating international efforts across teams. The Managing Director, International, will be responsible for defining market strategies, launching new markets, and establishing cohesive operations between headquarters and international offices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Global Expansion Strategy:
  • Partner with executive leadership, go-to-market teams, and global affairs leadership to drive the global expansion strategy.
  • Develop and implement cohesive market strategies for newly launched markets.
  • Identify new markets for expansion and secure buy-in from various teams.
• Market Launch and Coordination:
  • Launch new markets and coordinate efforts across supporting teams.
  • Support the hiring of initial staff in new markets, including market leaders.
  • Ensure seamless coordination between headquarters and international offices.
• International Strategy and Operations:
  • Define and act as the centralizing force for international strategy across global affairs, go-to-market, communications, and other teams.
  • Develop global operating playbooks across functions.
  • Define the international organizational structure and the relationship between headquarters and international teams.

Deliverables:

• Open new international offices.
• Successfully execute market entry strategies that maximize value.
• Secure favorable entry terms into each market (e.g., tax credits).
• Hire a "launch team" in each market, including market leaders.
• Achieve target percentages for ex-US revenue and headcount.
• Strong leadership and cross-functional coordination skills.
• Strategic thinking and the ability to develop and execute complex expansion plans.

You Will

· Lead the design and implementation of major AI products in the company.

· Lead successful delivery of AI solutions from conception through deployment, meeting quality, scope, and timeline requirements.

· Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to identify requirements, address challenges, and deliver solutions that meet business needs.

· Drive the integration of AI with Knowledge Graphs and Machine Learning models, ensuring seamless interaction and functionality.

You Are

· Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Engineering, or a related field.

· Minimum of 10 years of experience inengineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.

· Proven track record of successfully leading AI projects and teams in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

· Deep understanding of AI technologies, including machine learning, natural language processing, computer vision, and knowledge graphs.

· Strong project management skills with experience in agile methodologies.

· Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.

· Ability to think strategically and drive innovation.

· Experience with AI for science, data processing automation, visual processing, and AI algorithms and control systems is highly desirable.

Job Description

• To effectively manage and grow the Australian and New Zealand Wholesale (re)insurance team, including production and placement activities into the Singaporean and international markets.
• To identify and act upon new business opportunities which promote the profitable development of the business.
• To lead the development of Australian and New Zealand Wholesale (re)insurance business in line with the Company's plans and targets.
• To oversee and ensure the prompt placement of Australian and New Zealand Wholesale (re)insurance contracts in accordance with the client’s requirements and needs, in a timely manner in accordance with regulatory requirements acting in the best interest of the client and the company at all times.
• To provide a quality service to clients covering all aspects of their (re)insurance arrangements; to advise, arrange, and secure the appropriate cover at a competitive premium.
• To assume responsibility for and to oversee:

1. The renewal business portfolios
2. New business production
3. The marketing & placement of risks
4. Client Servicing
5. Growing the team as we build out our wider Wholesale capabilities in Singapore

• To represent the Australian and New Zealand Wholesale Department and Company internally and externally.
• To be responsible for the leadership and management of (re)insurance intermediation for the team.
• To agree the financial and operational targets for the Australian and New Zealand Wholesale Department with the CEO.
• To lead effective and regular communication within the Australian and New Zealand Wholesale Department and with other Departments.
• To advocate and ensure sound business practices compliant with the Company’s Rules and Procedures and other management instructions, in particular with regard to:

1. The conduct and recording of business
2. Confirmations and evidencing of cover
3. Recording and filing of all communications and discussions
4. The safeguarding of client monies
5. The escalation and reporting of breaches, errors & omissions, disputes and complaints

• Liaison with other Directors and senior managers to ensure that a coordinated approach is adopted on matters with cross-company impact.
• Reporting to the CEO in a timely manner to update on the Australian and New Zealand Wholesale Department’s performance and ensure the CEO and Compliance Officer are made aware of:

1. Any matter which might expose the Company to a claim, legal action or regulatory action/investigation.
2. Any serious disciplinary cases.
3. Any substantial failure to comply with the external regulatory and legislative framework.

• To advocate and ensure and an adequate and proactive risk control framework within the team.
• To ensure that they and their wider team adopt and uphold best practices and act in a compliant manner at all times, including with regards to the handling of clients, filing of documentation, tracking of enquiries, handling of claims and processing of business.
• Any other relevant tasks that the CEO may from time to time require you to enact.

Compliance

• Comply with relevant legal, regulatory and compliance requirements, E&O compliance procedures and quality initiatives.
• Escalation of any potential E&O's to Compliance Officer and Executive Directors at the earliest opportunity.
• Ensure completion of all mandatory Company training and to deadline.
