As a part of the NRF Fellowship Project on Materials-by-Design, School of Materials Science & Engineering (MSE) is looking to hire a Research Assistant with expertise in high-throughput synthesis of inorganic materials and optimization using machine learning. The Research Assistant will build upon our team’s experience toward developing high-throughput experimental platforms for synthesis, characterization and functional performance testing (thermoelectric performance, catalytic performance) of a library of materials.  The Research Assistant will focus on synthesizing and characterizing inorganic materials, specifically inorganic chalcogenides for thermoelectrics and metal alloy catalysts for CO2 reduction.

Additionally, the Research Assistant will conduct in-depth structural and elemental characterization and analysis of the materials using XRD, SEM-EDX and XPS. Finally, thermoelectric measurements experiments will be conducted. The Research Assistant should be able to utilize design-of-experiments and high-throughput experimental workflows. In addition, materials science and metallurgical concepts such as phase diagrams, mapping and separating different phases and oxidation states of compounds and rapid structural analysis are required. Finally, machine learning will be applied to guide experimental campaigns.

Cyber Security which is part of Centre for IT Services is Responsible for the Cyber Security Governance, Risk, Compliance & Awareness, Architecture, Consultancy & Engineering, Security Monitoring, Incident Response, Threat Intelligence and Digital forensic investigation.

This role will be part of the Cyber Security Defense team. The role is expected to work with various teams throughout NTU to ensure feasible, compliant, and effective implementation in accordance to Cyber Security policies, standards, and procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and maintain an effective cloud security strategy and architectures that adhere to best practices, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.

• Collaborate with infrastructure team to design and implement and maintain robust cloud security architectures, ensuring principles of least privilege, defense-in-depth and security by design.

• Design and implement security solutions to enable rapid detection and response to cybersecurity attacks.

• Operational support for Security Incident event management (SIEM) and other Enterprise security solutions. (eg Endpoint detection and response, Data Loss protection suite etc) for NTU and Autonomous institutes.

• Ensure standard operating procedures are reviewed up to date as well as operation metric reporting and performance requirements are met.

• At least 8 years of IT related working experience with at least 2 years of prior experience in designing, implementing, and managing security solutions in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, etc.).

• Candidates with prior experience in Security Engineering and Operations roles will have an advantage.

• Understanding and working experience in Cyber Security Incident detection and response practices and/or processes. e.g. NIST Incident Handling Guidelines, Cyber Kill Chain, MITRE ATT&CK Framework etc.

• Experience with Cyber Security solution such as Security Information & Event Management (SIEM), Endpoint Detection & Response, Threat Intelligence solutions, Privileged Access management or other enterprise security solutions.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Team to provide copyright advisories, systematic search consultations, general research enquiry service as well as implement faculty engagement programmes. This position will report to the Team Lead of Academic Engagement in OIKLS.

Responsibilities

• Manage and provide in-person/online reference and research consultation services as well as information seeking advice and effective access to relevant information and library resources.

• Administer and provide advice and consultation specifically on literature reviews and systematic search strategies for research.

• Build understanding of the information needs of the university community, promote library resources and services, and collect feedback on OIKLS services.

• Explore and integrate library resources and services into faculty teaching, curriculum and research.

• To provide guidance to faculty and students whenever required for postgraduate programme document submission such as PhD and MEng.

• Equipped with a good knowledge and understanding on administrative process, faculty and students are able to prepare the programme documents independently.

• To liaise with ACR and OA on various administrative process.
