Job Overview:

The Institute of Materials Research and Engineering (IMRE) is a research institute of the Agency for Science, Technology, and Research (A*STAR). Quantum Innovation Centre (Q.InC) is an A*STAR-level entity hosted within IMRE. Q.InC and IMRE are looking for a senior principal quantum scientist who has sufficient experience and proven track record of success in leading and managing quantum research, and bringing in external competitive funding. The scientist will be leading part of Q.InC’s hardware research efforts in areas such as quantum sensing and/or integrated photonics, and sit on Q.InC’s management team to strategise for Q.InC’s success.

In this role, you will work on the following but not limited to:

• Report directly to A*STAR’s Chief Quantum Scientist (CQS) and Q.InC’s Executive Director
• Lead and be responsible for Q.InC’s research efforts in quantum sensing and/or integrated photonics and/or other areas as CQS deems suitable
• Be the lead who is responsible for the success of these efforts, and answer questions from CQS, HQ, and A*STAR senior management when needed
• Work together with CQS and Q.InC’s management team to strategise for Q.InC’s excellence, e.g. discuss the progress of responsible research areas and performance of staff in these teams
• For the responsible research areas, lead the relevant Q.InC teams to secure significant external competitive funding from different grant schemes such as NQPI, NQSP, NRF-CRP, MTC Programmatic, IAF-PP/ICP, etc
• For the responsible research areas, lead the relevant Q.InC teams to establish close connections with local agencies and industry partners, such as HTX, DSO, OSTIn, to establish joint research programmes that bring in significant external support
• Help ensure the Q.InC teams being led undergo a smooth transition into other new structures following A*STAR senior management’s guidance

Requirements:

• Proven track record in leading and managing research teams
• A PhD degree in physics or engineering, ideally in quantum science
• 20 years of relevant research experience
• 10 years of relevant management experience
• Understanding of the intricate dynamics in different stakeholders, and optimising for the best outcome for Q.InC

• Ensure seaworthiness of the ship in accordance to voyage schedule;
• Lead the ship’s officers and crew in the following, including but not limited to:-

1. Comply with applicable rules, instructions, and contracts of cargo operations;
2. Implement and execute prevailing maritime safety and environmental policies;
3. Enforce security and safety procedures in accordance with local, national, and international laws and requirements;
4. Upkeep and review relevant shipboard documents, certificates, and records, including but not limited to vessel certificates, navigation manuals, and crew qualifications;

• Take charge of the Safety Management System, including but not limited to:-

1. Lead and assign roles to senior officers;

RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for trade/B2B marketing activities of Content Distribution department including trade events, marketing collaterals and digital marketing.

Events Management:

• Identify and plan key local / overseas content markets for branded booths to promote latest programme offerings, as well as identifying relevant programmes to promote in each market.
• To manage/produce marketing collaterals required for branded booth according to trade market requirements.
• Manage the procurement process of for events set up and coordinate with awarded vendor for set up to ensure smooth delivery of booth at each content market.

Marketing Collaterals:

• Collate marketing information for programmes by working with the relevant production teams and external stakeholders for material required for programme sales (may be required to do translation work, ability to translate from Chinese to English and vice versa will be an added advantage).
• To plan and manage marketing collateral production such as programme posters (for use across all marketing platforms such as events, website and brochures) and brochures (both hard and digital copies).

Digital Marketing Content website / EDMs:

• Responsible for managing and updating the department's content website, including updating of programme info and video files.

UWCSEA East is seeking an appropriately qualified and experienced University Advisor from March 2025 until July 2025.

Considerable current experience of advising students applying for admission to universities in North America and the United Kingdom is required. Familiarity with advising and application processing in Australia, Europe and Asia would be valuable, as would experience in advising students with financial aid needs.

The appointee will join a passionate team of University Advisors who enjoy working together in a highly collaborative atmosphere alongside an incredibly talented faculty. Main Responsibilities

• Contribute as part of a team to the delivery of a comprehensive programme of university advising services for a high school of 1,000+ students, including guidance, information and advocacy as they navigate university application processes in 20+ countries worldwide.
• Conduct personal advising meetings with an assigned caseload of 50+ each in G11 and G12, including some students with high financial needs, and help them in their process of planning, researching, and applying to universities, identifying and understanding career options, and implementing their post­-graduation plans; provide additional advice and support for up to 10 graduates currently taking gap years or doing National Service.
• Support 40+ Grade 10 students with answers to questions about IB subject selection based on their future aspirations.
