The jobholder supports the organisation in a range of communication activities such as media relations, event staffing, marketing and projects. The jobholder must be comfortable in providing communication consult, lead media relations, and publicity efforts for events.

The jobholder must ensure consistent messaging and communication of MENDAKI’s image and position to internal and external stakeholders. This includes crafting communication materials, pitching human-interest stories and profiles as well as to facilitate media queries.

Lastly, the jobholder must manage interview requests and provide staffing for spokesperson(s) including but not limited to political office holders, members of parliament, MENDAKI leadership team, beneficiaries, volunteers and participants.

Key Responsibility Areas

Media Relations

• Develop and implement communication activities to increase the publicity of MENDAKI's events, programmes and services
• This includes but not limited to develop media angle, key messages/narratives, draft communication materials such as media release and information sheet, as well as to facilitate interviews, and track coverage
• Ensure consistent messaging and communication
• Support the organisation’s media relations with various media partners including government agencies across different media agencies and channels
• Profiling human-interest stories through media pitching
• Work with departments to prepare communication materials such as
  administrative programme, speeches and/or talking points, social media posts, media releases, identify human-interest stories
• Lead media officer to support MENDAKI departments such as School Ready, HR and IT

Communication Projects

• Support editorial collaboration with media partners
• Support publicity efforts for digital projects with government agencies

Requirements

• Degree in Business, Marketing or Mass Communication
• 2 years of relevant experience in public and/or media relations
• Good written, verbal, analytical and interpersonal skills
• Meticulous with attention to details
• Strong digital marketing communication and social media
• Ability to manage multiple projects within tight timelines
• Proficiency in Microsoft Applications

Job Scope-

• Post vendors invoice, maintain record of any expense and data entry in system.
• Verify supplier's invoice received against purchase orders created by Procurement Team
• Liaise with various departments and suppliers to resolve any issues or discrepancy on the suppliers invoices.
• Prepare daily bank outflow statement to make sure have sufficient fund for payment deduction.
• Prepare and arrange payments for local supplier on due date.
• Create new vendor code and update detail for non-trade vendor in SAP.
• Perform monthly bank reconciliation and vendors statement reconciliation.
• Journalise expenses paid out from American Express corporate card.
• Maintain/update Customer Pricing Master based on instructions from Sales Admin based on duty roster.
• Check customers account before releasing the blocked account due to the unpaid outstanding invoices.

Requirements-

• Minimum Diploma in Accounting, Finance or any relevant field.
• Knowledge of basic book keeping procedures and familiar with finance regulations.
• Good math skills and the ability to spot numerical errors
• Hands-on experience with MS Excel and accounting software (e.g. SAP) is preferred.
• Ability to handle sensitive, confidential information

Job scope:

• Updating/maintaining general ledger and month-end journal closing entries
• Assisting in month-end and year-end closing
• Assist with internal/external audits, prepare audit schedules and NTAs
• Calculate and prepare journals for tax accounting
• Perform cost allocation for management reporting
• Perform reconciliations for balance sheets accounts, including intercompany
• Prepare balance sheets schedules
• Prepare data for direct and indirect tax filing
• Assist in annual stock take
• Assist in periodic management reporting
• Perform other duties as directed

Requirements:

• Min Diploma or Degree from a recognised institution
• With 3-5 years in GL Accounting
• Solid understanding of general ledger accounting
• Thorough knowledge of accounting and ledger procedures, In-depth knowledge of IFRS and USGAAP is an advantage
• Strong knowledge of Oracle (any ERP)/UiPath (RPA)/Hyperion/Essbase is an advantage, application and data interface
• Computer literacy, MS Excel in particular (familiarity with VLOOKUPs and pivot tables)
• Require to work US hours if needed
