Duties & Responsibilities

1. The Assistant Manager shall play a key role in the conceptual development of the construction project and oversee the scheduling and coordination of sub-contractors across various trades
2. He/She will be required to plan, lead and monitor progress and performance against the project plan whilst managing the day-to-day operational aspects of projects which includes manpower planning, construction progress monitoring, preparation of master schedule and cost control
3. Responsible for cost management to manage project within approved budgets, include materials, manpower and machinery cost control for new and running projects
4. Responsible for exercising timely instructions to deal with the results of delays, or emergencies at construction project sites
5. Reviewing manpower planning and monitoring of work schedules to ensure orderly delegation of jobs and smooth operation. Ensure to exercise effectively safe and economical methodology and enforces project standards
6. To maintain close collaboration with Project Managers, Architects, Engineers and all stakeholders to minimise errors in the process to achieve smooth completion of projects
7. To liaise closely with clients, consultants, sub-contractors, relevant authorities and developers in resolving site issues and authorities compliance issues
8. Handle any other adhoc duties assigned from time to time

Requirements

1. 10 years relevant working experience within the Construction industry in Asia region
2. Should possess a minimum qualification of Degree in Engineering or Architecture or equivalent qualification
3. Ability to prioritize tasks well and able to work independently
4. Able to work under stress and complete tasks within set deadlines

Job Responsibilities:

• Identify potential claims, coordinate with the insurance team, and open claim files accordingly
• Discuss with the internal department and respond to claim notifications from customers and third-party service providers
• Lead and guide the process of claim incident management
• Verify the liability based on the SOP, agreements, terms and conditions, whenever applicable
• Liaise with different stakeholders to mitigate and minimize further losses and damages on running claim cases
• Propose cost recovery whenever applicable and possible
• Deal with claim-related documents (eg LOI, liability or No further liabilities letters, invoices, etc)
• Follow-up on running/open claim cases
• Provide updates on open claim cases and share the monthly/weekly overviews with stakeholders
• Assist on operational-related matters as assigned

Requirements

· Minimum 15 years of related working experience in the management of safety within the maritime industry

· Knowledge of the various regulatory processes and systems in QHSE management such as the ISO standards and ISM code

· Effective communication skills in both written and spoken English

· Attention to detail

· Change management and conflict-resolution skills

· Lead auditor, Incident Investigation, DPA and CSO certification

· In order to manage the fleet efficiently with relevant experience, the Company set basic criteria for all shore personnel, especially the managers and superintendents of operations, technical, QHSSE and crewing departments.
