The Department of Political Science at the National University of Singapore invites applications for the tenure-track position of Presidential Young Professor (PYP) at the rank of Assistant Professor, to commence in 2025. Applications are invited from all major subfields of political science including, but not limited to, comparative politics, international relations, and public policy. We are especially interested in candidates with an Asia-focused research programme.

The NUS Presidential Young Professorship and NUS Presidential Fellowship Awards aim to attract, support, and empower the brightest and most promising young academics in the early stage of their careers so that they can develop themselves into world-class scholars. Our GeoSpatialX lab (https://blog.nus.edu.sg/geospatialx/), based in the Geography Department at National University of Singapore, has conducted a series of infectious disease transmission and control studies. We are seeking to recruit an excellent Research Assistant on using statistical/AI models to better understand the geographic spread of mosquito-transmitted viruses (i.e., dengue) under future climate change scenarios in Southeast Asia.

Qualifications

You will have a Master * or equivalent professional qualifications and relevant research experience in an epidemiology/ health geography/ statistical/ mathematical/ quantitative discipline. Strong experiences in statistical modeling, AI, infectious disease modelling, and computer programming skills would be advantageous. • Support the Hotel Management and Executive Director of Revenue Management to develop and maintain the hotel strategy (in terms of business mix and pricing by season and type of day) for the future periods through cooperation with sales & marketing team and optimal use of revenue management systems and channels. 

REVENUE MANAGEMENT PERFORMANCE 

• Analyze in detail the hotels results and performance (average rates, occupancy rates, RevPAR..). Survey the market and competitors in terms of performance (RevPAR Index, market penetration…), pricing and availability as a basis for future tactical decisions with the Hotel GM.  Run scenarios to determine optimized actions for contracts and business mix changes 

• Perform both high level and by day forecast for both hotels and manage the forecast adjustments, uploading and reporting through Accor systems.  

PRICING, PLANNING & DISTRIBUTION OPTIMISATION 

• Take daily decisions to optimize the hotel turnover. Decisions in terms of pricing, inventory management (RMLs open/close), group quotation, distribution channels...
