The Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences (HASS) cluster at the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) seeks applicants for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position specialising in the philosophy of science and technology. Appointments will be made on an initial three-year contract with the possibility of renewal.

We are particularly interested in applicants who can play an instrumental role in addressing questions relating to ethics in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and other emerging technologies—both through teaching students who are pursuing engineering, computer science, and architecture majors and through interdisciplinary research collaborations with engineering, design, and computer science faculty. Applicants should have a Ph.D. in a humanities-related discipline, such as philosophy or digital humanities, and have demonstrated research and teaching expertise in their field.

Besides cultivating a strong research portfolio, the successful candidate will be required to teach our undergraduate humanities core course and new electives in the candidate’s area of specialisation. Candidates who can contribute to our cluster’s digital humanities minor programme will also be viewed favourably. Requirements:

• Min Diploma in accountancy or equivalent

• Min 4 years of full set accounts experience

• Meticulous and keen to learn attitude

• Prior experience in construction or design field would have an advantage

• Quantity take-off and cost estimation of various projects
• Prepare tenders and quotations to be submitted within specified deadline,
• Source, evaluate, and negotiate terms and conditions and contract clauses with clients, suppliers and subcontractors.
• Prepare letter of award and payment certificates to sub contractors
• Monitor on overall project costs and budget.
• Track changes to the Design/ Construction work and adjusts budget projections accordingly
• Price/ forecast the cost of different materials required for the project
• Evaluate progress payment and VOs, cost-benefit analysis, and perform variation order
• Prepare and follow up monthly progress claims in a timely manner
• Other ad-hoc duties as assigned by superior

Research Assistant/Intern for Research on Wireless Power Transfer

The hired research assistant/intern will work on the development of wireless power transfer (WPT) in the Biomedical EM Lab at Singapore University of Technology and Design (http://people.sutd.edu.sg/~huangshaoying/). The contract is 3-4 months for interns and 1 year (renewable) for research assistants.

Project Description

The project is to investigate the design possibilities of a compact, efficient, and wideband antenna/radiator suitable for wireless energy harvesting (WEH)/WPT. This exploration will span both conductive and magnetoelectric (ME) antennas. Our study will consider WIFI, power from base stations, and WPT as potential power sources.

Job Scopes:

• Literature review of the research domain
• Designs of small antennas/radiators for WEH/WPT using commercial EM software
• Facilitate antenna/radiator fabrications and testing
• Data collection and documentations

Your profile

We are looking for a researcher with the following expertise and skills,
