Role Overview and Responsibilities:
1. Teaching Excellence and Innovation:
o Plan and deliver high-quality music instruction in assigned
courses
o Develop and update course materials, including Module
Guides and Lesson Plans
o Implement innovative teaching strategies and integrate
technology in learning experiences
o Adapt teaching approaches based on student needs and
feedback
2. Curriculum Development and Support:
o Contribute to curriculum design and updates in area of
expertise
o Full-time: Actively participate in curriculum development
meetings and review processes
o Adjunct: Provide input on curriculum as requested
3. Student Engagement and Support:
o Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment
o Provide academic guidance and career-related mentorship
o Facilitate student learning in music theory, performance, and
professional development
o Full-time: Offer regular office hours for student consultations
4. Assessment and Evaluation:
o Administer fair and comprehensive assessments
o Provide timely and constructive feedback on student work
o Full-time: Participate in pre and post-assessment moderation
processes and examination boards
o Adjunct: Contribute to assessment processes as directed
5. Administrative Duties:
o Maintain accurate attendance records and submit regular
reports
o Full-time: • Assist in course planning and contribute to module
specifications • Participate in program quality assurance
processes • Attend and contribute to regular faculty meetings •
Participate in end-of-semester review meetings
o Adjunct: Complete necessary administrative tasks related to
assigned courses

knowledge into teaching

ď‚· Minimum of 3 years teaching experience at the college level (for full-
time positions)

The Lecturer role at CCAMT requires a balance of teaching excellence,
administrative efficiency, and ongoing professional development. Our
faculty play a crucial role in maintaining academic standards, fostering
student engagement, and contributing to our vibrant musical community.
Full-time lecturers are expected to take on additional administrative and
leadership responsibilities, while adjunct lecturers focus primarily on
delivering exceptional instruction in their assigned courses or modules.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
The role of a music lecturer at CCAMT involves a mix of desk work and
active teaching. While not entirely desk-bound, full-time lecturers can
expect to spend approximately 20-30 hours per week working at a desk,
using computers and other devices for lesson planning, grading, and
administrative tasks. The job typically does not require lifting weights
exceeding 10 kg (22 lbs).
Teaching duties may involve:
ď‚· Standing for extended periods during lectures and performances
ď‚· Demonstrating musical techniques on various instruments
ď‚· Potential exposure to high sound levels in practice rooms and
performance spaces
ď‚· Occasional moving of musical equipment and instruments
ď‚· Travel between classrooms and performance venues on campus
While the risk level is generally low, proper precautions should be taken to
maintain hearing health and prevent repetitive strain injuries.
