Marine Project Engineer (Mechanical) - Site / Shipyard [3770]

Responsibilities:

1. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including, electrical engineers, mechanical engineers, designers, programmers, suppliers, and stakeholders, to plan, execute, and deliver engineering projects focused on green marine systems for marine vessels within defined timelines and budgets.
2. Together with core technical teams, conduct feasibility studies, evaluate technical requirements, and develop project specifications and scopes of work for green marine system integration projects.
3. Coordinate and oversee engineering activities throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring adherence to project plans, standards, and regulatory requirements.
4. Together with technical team, review and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specifications to ensure accurate implementation of green marine system designs and compliance with industry standards and regulations.
5. Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to ensure the safety, efficiency, and reliability of green marine system projects.
6. Monitor project progress, identify potential issues or bottlenecks, and implement corrective actions to ensure project milestones and deliverables are met.
7. Manage project budgets, track expenses, and provide regular cost reports to stakeholders.
8. Coordinate and track procurement activities for green marine system components.
9. Collaborate with the procurement team to ensure timely delivery of materials, equipment, and services required for green marine system projects.
10. Conduct regular site visits and inspections to monitor installation and integration activities, resolve technical issues, and ensure compliance with project specifications.
11. Prepare and deliver project progress reports, presentations, and technical documentation to stakeholders and senior management.
12. Manage delivery of documentations, including but not limited to FAT, HAT, SAT, operational and maintenance manuals.

Requirements:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
2. Proven experience as a Project Engineer, Marine Superintendent or similar role in the marine, shipbuilding or relevant industry, with a strong track record of successfully delivering engineering projects.
3. Knowledge of marine vessels systems, including electric motors, generators, batteries, power management systems, and control systems is an advantage.
4. Familiarity with marine vessel propulsion systems, including diesel engines, gas turbines, and electric propulsion technologies.
5. Proficiency in using engineering software and tools, such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and project management software.
6. Ability to travel to project sites and work in outdoor or shipyard environments as needed.

About the role:

• Good knowledge of general accounting principles (local legal requirements & IFRS guidelines)
• Analyze financial results, and monitor the budgeting and forecasting control cycle.
• Identify potential risk areas, and support implement control and mitigating activities.
• Accurately and independently applies this knowledge to his/her activities (incoming/outgoing invoices/Cashflow forecast & requirements)
• Responsible for the correct & timely processing of invoices, banking, petty cash & staff expenses.
• Responsible for booking and reconcile of wage reports in the accounting.
• Keeps an eye on deadlines both from internal and external deadlines.
• Responsible for weekly reports (cash report) and monthly accounting & recharged schedules.
• Follow up on internal documentation and archives up to date.
• Assist on site-related reports (upon request of the site)
• Draws up the monthly, and quarterly for reporting and declaration.

About you:

• Min. Diploma in Accounting, AAT, ACCA or equivalent
• Preferable 2 years relevant working experience.
• Intermediate/advanced Microsoft Excel skills are required.
• Good interpersonal, coordination & communication skills.
• Demonstrated good initiative.
• An ability to prioritize and execute tasks with minimal supervision.
• A keen eye for detail whilst being able to work efficiently.
• Strong double entry knowledge and good understanding of accounting processes
• Preferable Knowledge of Withholding tax and GST legislation (Marine industry and international services)
• Experience with Microsoft D365 would be an added advantage.
• Work well independently and as part of the team
