We currently have an opening for a Data Center (DC) Operations role, to support Data Center operations for our client in Singapore which is a top global investment bank.

Responsibilities:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in a Data Center Operations with hands-on experience and knowledge in the operation and management of Data Center facilities.
• Reports to the Data Center Operations Lead.
• Good understanding of Mechanical & Electrical infrastructure including rack space, power and cooling systems.
• Strong knowledge and experience with structured cabling design and implementations.
• Responsible for Data Center remote operation support including liaising with onsite Technicians and/or colocation vendors for all operations tasks.
• Review server room physical access request and to approve/reject request.
• Review disk reports submitted by vendors against the actual disk break-fix event.
• Liaise with approved disposal vendor for disk destruction and/or waste collection.
• Review the current rack space, power, cooling, patch panel capacity and approve recommended rack space for equipment placement.
• Responsible for equipment movement in collaboration with equipment owner.
• Responsible for equipment decommissioning of unused equipment in collaboration with equipment owner.
• Manage purchases including obtaining and reviewing quotations, obtain approval for purchases and submission of purchase requests and following up to ensure timely delivery and installation.
• Update the asset inventory in System of Records after equipment placement, decommissioning or movement.
• Manage regular asset inventory sighting.
• Ensure the accuracy of System of Records for asset inventory.
• Participate in Change Management including reviewing, approving/rejecting Change Requests for Data Center Operations related work, and coordinating with assignees and closure of completed change requests.
• Participate in Incident Management including raising Incident Tickets for Data Center Operations related incidents, performs troubleshooting and analysis, recommending and implements remediation / preventive actions and closure of incident tickets.
• Ensure timely updates and closure to all change requests, incident tickets, work orders and service requests.
• Gather information for audits and formulate responses for DC Ops Leads review and approval.
• Oversee M&E upgrade, power maintenance, loss of utilities and/or loss of water tests within Data Center.

Regular reporting:

• Reconciliation of actual events to approved requests (e.g. physical access to Data Center, Rack Keys Utilization, Visitor Logs)
• Capacity Utilization of Data Center including rack, power and patch panels.
• Review of Third-Party Colocation Vendor submitted reports for accuracy.
• Statistics for Data Center Activities:

1. Equipment Decommissioning Requests and Status
2. Equipment Movement Requests and Status
3. Equipment Placement Requests and Status

Others:

• Good communication skills, able to communicate clearly, both verbally and written.
• Experience working in regional and global support roles.
• Manage resources locally and remotely for APAC Data Center Operations, including task assignment and shift scheduling.

Responsibilities:

• Lead a team in BOM purchase
• Identify/ initiate/ enhance current process to meet the changing requirement of the organization
• Support the development and implementation of purchasing and contract management, policies and procedures and ensuring all purchase are approved within mandated guidelines
• Assist management in identifying cost saving and drive activities to meet the cost reduction targets
• Sourcing for new parts and establishing new supplier relationship to help fulfil the needs of the organization
• Initiate, manage and cooperate with other internal resources to complete projects
• Negotiate pricing, terms and conditions of sale and warranties of goods and products with locally managed suppliers or service providers

Requirements

• Degree in any discipline
• Minimum of 5 years managing a team experience in purchasing management
• Working experience in IC manufacturing industry will be an added advantage
• Sound knowledge in supply chain systems
• Strong customer orientation and adaptable to changing customer demands
• Good communication and interpersonal skills

Job Purpose:

Attend to maximum number of customer’s incoming calls, email and voicemails with upmost service quality with regards to the company services.

Job Responsibilities & Duties:

• Attend and response to maximum number of incoming calls, email and voicemails with service quality
• Follow-up on all escalated incident
• Logged all calls reported into the case management system
• Maintains and accurately update customer’s enquiry, problem and resolution into the case management system
• Generates management reports
• Provides assistance and guidance to junior colleagues
• Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Years/Type of Experience:

• Minimum 1 year of call center experience
• Interested with policy and procedures, application/eService usage and/or transaction behaviour support in Call Centre via phone, email, online and digital platform.

Working Hours:

• Able to work staggered office hours on rotation.

• 5 years of experience in Data Centre facility management, with a preference for experience within a team environment.
• Demonstrated experience in working effectively in high-pressure environments, including 24x7 on-call responsibilities.
• Strong understanding of incident, problem, and change management procedures based on ITIL best practices.
• Proven experience in supporting Data Centre vendors and outsourcing vendors.
• Proficient in multitasking and skilled in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
• Possess an analytical and inquiring mind to derive innovative solutions.
• Capable of working both independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
• Previous experience working in data centre operations within financial institutions.
• Familiarity with equipment requirements in Data Centres, including storage, servers, and networking equipment such as routers and switches, is a significant advantage.
• Knowledge of Structured Cabling systems and related components is a plus.

The Job

• Possess good knowledge of data centre operation tasks and duties.
• Liaise with DC/Building landlord to ensure optimal operation of electricity, HVAC and monitoring environments within Mission Critical IT facilities in Data Centre and remote buildings.
• Strong ability to support activities in data centre and computer rooms
• Ensure data centre physical security procedures are followed strictly.
• Prompt escalation of incidents following the standard incident response procedure & track till closure
• To generate reports to management
