Your role

The incumbent will be responsible to lead and manage a team of construction project manager professionals across APAC. The role will ensure consistent, predictable and scalable solutions to world class safety, schedule, quality and commercial project delivery outcomes. They will adopt a partnership-based approach with both internal and external stakeholders to execute the delivery of design and construction projects.

What you’ll do

• Reporting to the APAC VP of Design Engineering and Construction, the candidate will be based in Singapore and will lead a team of construction project delivery managers across APAC.
• Partner with the APAC Head of Design to deliver data centre capacity aligned with business unit strategic direction.
• Lead the overall management of site delivery teams and monitor against agreed outcomes and activities.
• Implement off site fabrication and manufacturing solutions to the design and delivery phase of capacity delivery where appropriate
• Implement and scale repeatable and predictable processes to ensure accurate project tracking, reporting and risk management mechanisms
• Lead the direction and monitor the performance of GC’s, OEM’s and external consultants that are engaged across the region.
• Act as the focal point of management for regional safety, schedule and cost performance during the delivery phase.
• Procure and execute delivery strategies that are consistent with company practices, ensuring suitability for local country implementation
• Implement and lead a world class safety culture with internal stakeholders, general contractors, equipment vendors and the wider supply chain
• Excellent project management skills, the ability to manage multiple projects, project manage team members and vendors seamlessly.
• Ability to work with many groups and disciplines within the organization including executive management, operations, sales and finance.
• Program/Project Management of design and construction vendors from initiation to closeout for new facility construction, upgrades of existing facilities, and other related construction work.
• Prepare budgets and forecasts related to anticipated design and construction expenditures.
• Development of project program and scope documents that are aligned with business objectives and value-engineering philosophies
• Work with Sales for customer enquiries and site visits for sales opportunities.
• Be a cross functional partner with internal teams to enable seamless end to end delivery
• Preparation of requests for proposals.
• Evaluation of proposals and recommendations to management regarding vendor selection.
• Expected to closely track progress (scope, budget & schedule) of all design and construction-related projects from inception to completion. Ability to communicate progress to both internal and external stakeholders.

• Initiating and maintaining design & construction standards that provide for cost effective facilities.
• Initiating and maintaining a historical construction cost database that captures the scope, schedule and cost of all completed projects.
• A good understanding of advanced electrical, mechanical, security / monitoring, and fire detection/suppression systems.
• An understanding of standard practices in the design and construction industry.
• A good familiarity with basic building code requirements.

What you’ll need

• Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from a four-year college or university and a minimum of six years of related project management experience of technically complex projects required.
• Min 15 years construction delivery experience – either trade, general contractor, consultant, design engineer etc.
• Be a construction industry safety thought leader
• Professional License (Architect or Engineer) desired.
• Ability to comprehend, analyse, and interpret complex business documents, design drawings, construction drawings, construction specifications, design and construction contracts, project schedules and detailed budgets / estimate summaries.
• Ability to project manage effectively.

Job Description & Requirements:

• Work closely with the project team on environmental issues such as noise monitoring, pollution, vector control, air pollution, water pollution and drainage, prevention & control of infectious diseases, food hygiene, solid waste management, chemical storage & disposal, and haze response procedure. Ensure compliance with the latest environmental regulations.
• Implement and monitor environmental control programs on site.
• Prepare, submit statutory reports, and maintain documentation for environmental public health requirements on environmental issues.
• Conduct regular inspections and actively be involved in environmental matters on site.
• Enforces all environmental requirements and in-house rules and regulations
• Attend site meetings/ client meetings and prepare weekly reports.
• Liaise with government authorities in relation to safety and environment compliance matters.

Overall responsible for the development and implementation of Safety, Health, Environmental & Security policies and ensure that site operates in accordance with applicable statutory & regulatory requirements.

Be the Secretary of the Safety Committee and ensure that safety and environment meetings are held in accordance to regulatory requirements.

Report the Safety, Health, Environmental & Security aspects to Project Director.

Conduct risk assessments.

Investigate all Industrial accidents.

Coordinate and conduct Safety, Health, Environmental & Security training at all levels on site and head office.

Conduct regular Safety, Health, and Environmental & Security inspection and recommend corrective action.

Arrange independent Safety audit and follow-up on corrective action.

Liaise with BCA on OHSAS 18000 and ISO 14000 Certification.

Liaise with respective Authorities on matters related to Safety, Health, Environmental & Security issues.

Establish site security plan in conjunction with Project Director / Project Manager.

Organize & manage the security team and monitor the implementation of security plan.

Prepare monthly security report for all projects and submit to Project Director / Project Manager / Construction Manager for review.

Ensure no illegal workers are working on / staying on job site (including Sub-contractors).

Total 15 years experience in construction field and minimum 10 years experience in the relevant position.

Your day to day

The Floor Supervisor/ Public Area Supervisor oversee and direct the day-to-day operation of an assigned area of the guest room floors or public areas.

Financial Returns

• Works with Assistant Housekeeper in the preparation and management of the Department’s budget. Being the role model to lead the team for best practices.

Your day to day

In collaboration with the Restaurant Manager and Assistant Manager, supervises all aspects of one or more full-service food and beverage outlet(s) on a daily basis and coordinate special events. Ensure compliance with standards of service and operating procedures. Adhere to federal, state and local regulations concerning health safety or other compliance requirements.

As a restaurant captain, you are responsible to promote and ensure guest satisfaction, maintain a safe and sanitary work environment and ensure only the highest quality products are being served.

Establishes rapport with guests to build guest loyalty and gather constructive feedback to ensure satisfaction of every individual guest. At the same time, in collaboration with the Assistant Manager to handle daily team member relations, and encourage problem solving by team members through proper training and empowerment.

Financial Returns

• Assisting the Assistant Manager to maintain procedures to (1) ensure the security and proper storage of restaurant inventory, and equipment, (2) ensure the security of monies, credit and financial transactions, (3) replenish supplies, inventory, uniforms, etc. in a timely and efficient manner, and (4) to minimize waste and control costs. Participate in taking inventories.

Guest Experience

• Ensure guests are greeted upon arrival. Respond appropriately to guest complaints. Establish and implement appropriate service recovery guidelines in order to ensure total guest satisfaction.
• Create innovative programs and promotions to market special menu items, increase sales, and increase guest patronage. Assist in the development and implementation of new menus and local food and beverage marketing programs, and participate in and maintain system-wide food and beverage marketing programs.
• Greet, smile and maintain eye contact with guests at all times
• Deliver responsive, warm and caring service to guests

Responsible Business

• Supervise day-to-day activities of one or more food and/or beverage outlets. Plan and organize work. Communicate and enforce policies and procedures.
• Ensure that all restaurant equipment (coffee and beer & water machines, registers, etc.) is in proper operational condition and is cleaned on a regular basis. Ensure that all restaurant facilities are cleaned, vacuumed, and properly stocked according to anticipated business volumes. Notify Engineering immediately of any maintenance and repair needs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Responsible for guiding the hostess, waiter/waitress and bus boy/girls in the performance of their jobs.
• Responsible for ensuring sufficient operating guest supplies, beverage supplies and operating equipment during outlet’s operation.
• Responsible for the overall sanitation and cleanliness of the outlet during the shift.
• Responsible for the proper maintenance and good working order of all equipment, furniture and fixtures in the outlet.
• Responsible for consistently implementing the service standards and operating procedures in the outlet.
• Responsible for ensuring sufficiency of manpower in the shift.
• Performs other duties and responsibilities assigned by immediate superior, which leads to guest satisfaction and profit for the hotel.
• Alert management of potentially serious issues.
• Ensure all staff is properly trained and certified if applicable and have the tools and equipment needed to effectively carry out their job functions.
• Handling tactfully on guest request or complaint
• To ensure the standards of service are delivered

What we need from you

High school diploma or equivalent and at least 1-2 years restaurant management experience in a full service outlet or similar setting. Hospitality Management Degree or some college preferred.

Other:

• Communication skills are utilized a significant amount of time when interacting with others; demonstrated ability to interact with customers, employees and third parties that reflects highly on the hotel, the brand and the Company.
• Reading and writing abilities are utilized often when completing paperwork, ordering, interpreting results, and giving and receiving instructions.
• Mathematical skills, including basic math, budgeting, profit/loss concepts, percentages, and variances are utilized frequently.
• Problem solving, reasoning, motivating, organizational and training abilities are used often.
• Alcohol awareness certification and/or food service permit or valid health/food handler card as required by local or state government agency.
• May be required to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays.
