The General Worker (Maintenance) at Hotel Miramar plays a vital role in maintaining the facility's upkeep and ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for guests and staff. This position involves a diverse range of maintenance tasks and general duties across various areas of the hotel.
We're looking for someone who is eager to work and likes to keep things in order.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Perform routine maintenance tasks such as plumbing, electrical repairs, carpentry work, painting, and general handyman duties.
2. Conduct regular inspections of the premises to identify any maintenance issues or safety hazards.
3. Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guests and staff, and efficiently resolve issues to minimize disruption.
4. Assist in the installation and repair of fixtures, fittings, and equipment throughout the hotel.
5. Maintain cleanliness and organization in work areas and storage spaces.
6. Support the Maintenance team in implementing preventive maintenance programs and initiatives.
7. Handle basic landscaping and gardening tasks, including lawn care and outdoor area maintenance.
8. Assist with moving furniture, equipment, and supplies as needed.
9. Adhere to all safety regulations, procedures, and protocols while performing maintenance tasks.
10. Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless coordination and execution of maintenance activities.
11. Maintain accurate records of maintenance work performed, inventory levels, and equipment inspections.
12. Participate in training programs to enhance skills and knowledge related to maintenance procedures and techniques.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in maintenance or handyman roles, preferably within a hotel or similar environment.
- Strong knowledge of basic maintenance techniques and procedures, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and painting.
- Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems independently.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Physical stamina and dexterity to perform tasks requiring lifting, bending, and prolonged standing.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.
- Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
