Reporting to the Head of Supply Chain Management, APAC, the Logistics Operations Specialist is responsible for planning, managing, and evaluating the logistics operations of Evident Singapore to ensure operations run smoothly and efficiently.
This role also works with internal and external stakeholders to ensure accurate shipping and delivery schedules for new and existing product. The incumbent will be responsible for managing outsourced service providers including 3PL and transporters & freight forwarders.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day to day Logistics operation including 3PL, express services, transporters, trade brokerage declaration and freight forwarders and conduct regular business reviews.
- Coordinate with internal staff as well as external vendors and contractors to ensure a smooth flow of goods and services through the supply chain.
- Manage the storage of goods in warehouse facilities, ensuring proper handling and security of products.
- Develop short-term and long-term strategies for the efficient and effective movement of goods.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures for the efficient operation of the logistics department, included Logistics counter.
- Inbound delivery creation for 3PL and perform goods receipt of inventory & assets (direct material) for UBIX office.
- Incoming repair commercial invoice validation.
- Filing of insurance claim under GIT / MOP for any damages / Loss during transit.
- Continuous improvement of logistics operations and optimization of costs to drive cost savings for the business.
- Responsible to determine the feasibility of Dangerous Goods / Special Cargo Acceptance and assess the safety of carriage of such cargoes.
- Participate as WSH committee member to promote safety & health work in the workplace, publish the guidelines to ensure awareness, monthly review Risk Assessment at Logistics Counter and promote the safe conduct in workplace.
- Quarterly Asset Disposal arrangement for E-Waste (as comply to NEA requirement).
- Work closely with respective BU to classify items finished goods, repair units, spare parts and demo assets from export control, determine the application export control jurisdiction(s).
- Advise internal and external stakeholders on issues of export control operations including ECCN classification and controls to ensure compliance.
- Any other tasks and duties as assigned by superior /management.
Formal Qualifications
- Diploma in supply chain management, operations management, or equivalent.
Key Skills / Core Competencies
- Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in an operational environment with expertise in managing 3PLs, freight forwarders and transporters.
- Experience in managing airfreight and express/courier operations preferred.
- Excellent communication and relationship building skills to develop trust and credible relationships with stakeholders.
- Effective decision-making and issue resolution abilities in a pressured environment.
- Solid understanding of supply chain operations including warehouse operations, freight, transportation, and import & export process.
- Hands-on experience in logistics operation or management of 3PL operation.
- Project management and problem-solving skills.
- Preferably have knowledge on SAP experience in MM/SD/BI module.
