Requirements

• Degree qualified with at least 15 years of Global/ Regional Audit experience
• International MNC experiencerequired. Must be able to work independently in a fast-paced, matrix organizational structure, thrive in challenges, and comfortable with changes.
• Strong Team Management experience
• Experience in operational and financial audits, and concurrently managing Global projects & strategic audits
• Global experience will be highly advantageous (or have experience working directly with Global stakeholders)
• Strong experience in end to end processes, navigating complexities and able to work with ambiguities

Position

As the Internal Audit Director, you will be responsible in the planning and execution of operational and financial audit, ensuring efficient resource planning, drive strategic audits and concurrently manage Global projects aligned with overall company direction. You will drive annual risk assessment, develop audit programs and risk-based audit plans, conduct interviews to document key operational processes, provide independent advice, and make recommendations to resolve operational issues appropriately. You will work with global stakeholders, cross functional teams and senior management, identify challenges, risks, controls and operational issues, and drive implementation of practical solutions. You will communicate and present results and findings effectively to senior management and adopt a consultative approach.

You will be responsible in leading and developing a high performing team, continually identify opportunities to streamline and automate processes, and ensure compliance with statutory requirements and company policies. RESPONSIBILITIES

• This position is for Office of Corporate Communications and Marketing (OCCM).
• The principal speech writer will support and create all forms of written content including presentation materials for SMU President in her role as lead spokesperson for SMU across local and international platforms to enhance the brand and reputation of SMU.
• The role will develop compelling content on various topics and include content that clearly conveys the meaningful impact SMU makes through its education, research and global engagement, with focus on its three strategic priorities to realise SMU Vision.
• In speech writing and content development, the role will need to capture the personality/voice, vision, and priorities of SMU President on a wide range of topics clearly and crisply.
• Other duties include conducting research, developing, writing and editing a wide variety of materials including quotes, video scripts, speeches, talking points, background materials, narratives, opinion-editorial and thought leadership pieces.
• There will also be occasions where subject matter experts will be interviewed, and complex ideas will need to be translated into simple, memorable, and powerful stories.
• The role will be part of the corporate communications team who works on SMU President's communication strategies and thought leadership narratives and will report to the head of corporate communications.

• A bachelor's degree in journalism, English, literature, communications, creative writing, or a similar discipline. A master's degree is preferable.
• Keen interest in current affairs, and geopolitical and socio-economic issues and is also intellectually curious.
• A good understanding of public speaking, aware of language subtleties and always crafts the speeches with the audience in mind.
• Excellent research skills and ability to work independently.
• Strong strategic, analytical thinking skills, with demonstrated excellence in creating and articulating ideas.
• Exceptional writing, editing and oral communications skills ability to produce compelling content for internal and external audiences to achieve desired results.
• Adept at creating PowerPoint slides that convey compelling visual information to various audiences.
• Strong organisational skills with ability to successfully manage multiple assignments simultaneously and at speed while collaborating with multiple teams across the university.
• Experience in integrated communications, including knowledge of earned, paid, owned and shared media.
• Creative, state-of-the-art communications knowledge who understands emerging technologies, communication best practices, and has a passion for exploring new methods of communicating.
