Tasks
• Know the clients (owners, operators, shipyards and other branches of MAN ES) in the region, understand their business and which projects they are working on.
• Establish and maintain close client relationships and follow-up with client visits. Be the local facilitator of meetings and shape the situations according to the intercultural context.
• Identify new clients (owners, operators, shipyards) and new leads; pro-actively and systematically generate new leads in the assigned territory.
• Represent and promote MAN Energy Solutions PrimeServ Two-Stroke & Four-Stroke service and parts products and related latest solutions in the territory towards owners, operators and shipyards.
• Obtain and follow-up on enquiries and technical requests from clients, relating to engine diagnostics, inspection, overhaul, repair or re-conditioning. In conjunction with other support functions, manage attendance on board ship and/or in workshop from quotation to completion.
• Manage short attendance activities as well as longer complete Two-Stroke/Four-Stroke engine/turbocharger rebuilds.
• Interact with the appropriate HQ based teams and request support, where/when needed.
• Enter all client relevant information (e.g. contacts, leads, visit reports) into the MAN Energy Solution proprietary CRM system and keep the information up to date.
• Manage high profile key accounts with large fleets of vessels.
• Regularly gather and tabulate information regarding market trends and requirements.
• Know and share the clients’ decision-making processes.
• Know the competitors in each application and in each project and their local representatives.
Qualifications
• Marine Engineering degree (university) or equivalent technical education / degree
• 5 -10 years of experience in marine technical and/or sales department. Preferably with a maritime background.
• Verbal and written fluency in English.
• Proficiency in Microsoft-Office package (Outlook, Powerpoint, Word, Excel, Project).
• Detailed understanding of the service business on both technical and commercial levels.
• High degree of customer orientation.
• Good social conduct.
