Summary of Responsibilities:

We are looking for a Director of Engineering to join our team!

As a Director of Engineering, you will be required to:

• General administration of the Engineering Department, including other proper maintenance and repair of all building, fixtures, fittings and equipment as well as technical improvement, preventive maintenance and utilities consumption control
• Lead and manage the engineering department, including recruiting, training, and supervising staff.
• Develop and implement comprehensive maintenance programs to ensure the smooth operation of all hotel systems and equipment.
• Conduct regular inspections to identify and address any maintenance or repair needs promptly.
• Collaborate with other departments to support their operational needs and ensure guest satisfaction.
• Manage capital projects, renovations, and upgrades, from planning through execution.
• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and environmental standards.
• Monitor energy usage and implement measures to optimize efficiency and reduce costs.
• Drives the environmental culture in the Hotel and guide the Department Heads in their initiatives

Job Descriptions:

• Work with other member of multi-disciplinary Engineers to review load profiles and design the Energy Storage System to meet load profiles requirements set out in the technical requirements.
• Develop, maintain and update engineering standards.
• Ensure compliance with Company quality program.
• Select equipment, components and materials required for BESS.
• Perform complex engineering calculations and problem analysis following standard methods and principles independently.
• Provide technical support to Sales and Marketing or Business development.
• Support multiple projects on the complex technical challenges.
• Develop and apply advanced engineering concepts and approaches to unique engineering problems.
• Develop battery container layouts, equipment arrangement and coordinate with electrical, civil and PV engineering teams for complete packages for installation.
• Develop single-line and three-line diagrams with required electrical details for the battery system in accordance with local codes and international standards.
• Calculate energy storage system performance/efficiently, coordinate, obtain and integrate BMS, EMS and SCADA designs for the battery system from third party monitoring companies.
• Develop technical specifications and scopes of work for owners, engineering firms and contractors.
• Design for different types of battery enclosure type solutions like cabinet type, container type, building type storage solution.
• Identify and quantify energy conservation opportunities associated with Batteries / PCS / HVAC / FFS for different enclosure systems.
• Investigate design factors such as but not limited to the function, durability, performance, efficiency, and contractual requirements.
• Other scope of work to be assigned.

Job Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in the areas of renewable energy systems, preferably with a specialisation in power systems, solar PV, battery storage, wind energy systems;
• Minimum Degree in Engineering or equivalent;
• Knowledgeable and experience on the different parameters for design, selection, and sizing of the batteries as well leveraging the parameters to optimise sizes of the batteries;
• Experience on battery energy storage system design, chemistry selection, performance modelling, lifetime estimation simulations of batteries, degradation and augmentation schedules, visualization of business model (duty cycle) would be advantageous;
• Strong project management skills and experience in an international, multicultural environment;
• Familiar with IEC, UL, CE and NFPA standards.
• Experience as a user of the AutoCAD

The Job

1. Responsible for assembly, debug and test run of customized modular machines and it’s commissioning.

2. Provide on-site technical support at customer premise for equipment operation.

3. Perform design modifications through: Simplified design, reduced parts, using cheaper alternatives, while maintaining or enhancing the performance of products in terms of cost reduction.

4. Procure and/or assist in the procurement of necessary items to enable the performance of above duties.

5. Writing and maintenance of all necessary documentations, work and assembly instructions, manufacturing and test procedures.

1. Nitec / Higher Nitec / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with 2 to 3 years’ relevant experience.

2. Knowledge of industrial automation, jigs and fixture design, FMEA, SPC, CAD as well as experience in machine design are added advantages

3. Self-Disciplined with strong project management skills

4. Can work independently

5. Good interpersonal and communication skills

6. Required to travel when necessary

Job Scope

1. Working together with sales team to maintain or excel (but not constrainted to) a minimum monthly sales target of S$100,000. (As a good guide for fluctuating monthly sales, the figure may be calculated base on a three month average).
