DHI is a global leader in solving the toughest water, climate, and biodiversity related challenges. We seek a confident, outgoing, organized, and self-motivated environmental professional to help drive our environmental projects forward. The role will be to project manage and provide technical environmental solutions to our clients. The role will involve running several environmental projects at a time and interfacing with clients on a day-to-day basis. We are looking for someone who can start soon.
Key Responsibilities
· Lead Geo.Informatics team in providing geospatial data products and services for environmental projects in Singapore and the region.
· Manage geospatial database and geospatial data processing workflow
· Perform routine data updates to meet project needs
· Support project teams in meeting geospatial data needs of real-world environmental projects
· From time to time provide onboarding for new staff on GIS workflows or training to other staff to carry out geospatial services.
Education and Experience
· Bachelor or Masters in GIS, remote sensing, geography, environmental science, water resources or a related field. Minimum 3 years experience in this field.
· Individuals who are self-taught in geospatial tools are welcome, as long as technical expertise can be demonstrated in an interview or by portfolio.
· Beyond the use of geospatial tools, passionate about applying in environmental projects that make a difference.
Knowledge and Skills
· Good understanding of geospatial principles, science communication, coordinate systems, scales
· Familiar with use of ESRI ArcGIS Desktop, or other GIS software in use of data integration, analysis and mapping
· Familiar with use of ENVI, ERDAS or other RS software for processing remotely sensed data
· Knowledge of AutoCAD, Micro station data and software
· Able to work independently and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
· Self-motivated, and quick to pick up new skills / knowledge
· Able to work well in a multi-cultural & multi-disciplinary environment
· Fluent in spoken and written English
