Position Description (Summary):

The Assistant Accounts Officer is responsible for providing financial & administrative service

to ensure effective, efficient, and accurate financial operations in SPI. He/She will assist the Senior Accounts Officer to complete full sets of accounts by ensuring financial compliance with established policies, procedures & accounting standards in the AR / AP, GL & Inventories areas.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Responsible for managing petty cash system via Imprest System.
2. Responsible for the accuracy and timely processing of invoices, debit / credit notes to customers.
3. Responsible for booking of suppliers’ invoices, debits/credit notes and others required month end journal entries.
4. Assist Senior Accounts officer for effective credit control and timely AR collections.
5. Assist Senior Accounts Officer to process monthly payments to Suppliers, and all relevant parties
6. Assist Senior Accounts Officer to manage month-end & year-end processes for Accounts Receivable, Inventories & GL modules, ensuring compliance of Standard accounting practices in AR/AP GL and inventory area.
7. Assist Senior Accounts officer for year-end budgeting, stock take & audit processes.
8. Provides reports as required by the Management team.
9. Other general accounting & administrative duties as assigned by Regional Finance Director and Senior Account Officer

Job Specification:

• Educational Qualifications:Diploma in Accounting or LCCI qualification with 1-2 years of relevant working experience
• Other Technical/Professional Qualifications:Previous working experience in manufacturing environment would be an added experience
• Experience: Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in Financial Accounting
• Knowledge Required:Proficient in Microsoft Office, SAP & /or Ufida ERP system preferred.
• Skills Required: An analytical mind with aptitude in math, problem solving and planning skills would be an added advantage. High level of integrity and attentive to detail.
• Attributes Required :Integrity, honesty, initiative, meticulous, positive, work independently and as well as in a team. Ability to work independently under minimal supervision. Able to multi-task.
