Requirements:

• Min 3-5 years’ experience in trade banking
• Knowledge of UCP rules, ISBP 745, ISP98, URDG, URC, URR rules and incoterms rules

[What you will be working on]

You will work closely with colleagues in EDB (e.g. Industry Groups, Industry Manpower  Division) and officers from other government agencies. Your responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

• Understanding the energy supply chain and potential disruptions. 

• Developing the energy supply and distribution operational plans and pandemic preparedness plans. 

• Liaising with other government agencies and key industry partners to improve the energy supply chain resilience. 

• Supporting the management of additional resources appointed by EDB to audit and inspect EDB managed worksites. 

In addition, you will be involved in other Energy & Chemical (E&C) Industry Development work. You will work closely with internal teams in EDB, other government agencies, trade associations and companies. Your responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

• Drive the industry development programs to ensure Singapore remains competitive for the E&C sector.

• Support in land master planning.

To meet the challenges of the role, you will have to:

• Stay informed about global and regional developments impacting energy supply and pandemic-related policies that companies are required to comply with.

• Understand the operations of inter-agency taskforces, establishing connections with key contacts across agencies for energy security and pandemic related issues. 

• Possess knowledge of how E&C industries work. 

• Be well-versed in the roles of various government agencies, trade associations and companies involved in energy supply, pandemic-related and E&C issues.

• Demonstrate adaptability to address to diverse work requirements, often with short timeframes, and effectively communicate instructions or changes to officers and/or counterparts in agencies. 

• Be able to be rostered to work during weekends during emergencies.

• At least 1-3 years of relevant experience in coordinating large-scale projects across multiple stakeholders, including government agencies

• Supply Chain Management experience is preferred

Account Management

• Serve as the main point of contact from EDB to a portfolio of identified conglomerate corporate clients and oversee end-to-end process of account development, project negotiation and execution, and client servicing

Market Analysis

• Build sound understanding of multiple industry and business trends

• Lead and undertake initiatives or thematic analysis that are relevant to Conglomerates

• Pre-empt common issues faced by clients or that may potentially impact them, and recommend and implement solutions

• Provide input where relevant to appropriate teams in EDB and/or rest of Singapore government on policies or product/ service development (e.g. in incentive design, resource negotiation)

BASIC FUNCTION

Assist the Head of Securities Marketing in BDO SGB Treasury in the day-to-day overall activities related to Investment Accounts for the Regulated Activities under the Securities and Futures Act (SFA) and the Financial Advisers Act (FAA) to achieve its overall objectives and targets.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Develop and maintain client relationships to build market share and enhance client asset size over time. Achieve annual revenue targets and objectives.

2. Handle client’s request and instruction directly, including trade processing and inquiries on operational issues.

3. Calls the clients to confirm the client’s orders stated in the Letter of Instruction(LOI) over a SGB recorded line.

4. Assist customers of the BDO SG Branch in the investment account opening application by providing necessary guidance, disclosures and explanations to them;

5. Assist in the categorization of customers (e.g. professional investors, customers with / without derivative knowledge, etc.) by obtaining the necessary documentary proofs and confirmations from the customers;

6. Conduct the investment product selling process upon receiving order instructions from customers;

7. Explain the investment product features, risks, fees and charges, and other sales-related information to the customer;

8. Perform suitability assessment to identify Unsuitable Products (as defined below) (which are disallowed for sale) or Mismatch Products (which require approval from management prior to execution of the order instruction);

9. Conduct other selling process as regulated by the policy and procedures and obtain the required acknowledgement and confirmations from customers during the investment product selling process to satisfy the disclosure requirements.

10. Keep updated on market trends, different investment products and services, and give input for new product development by being aware of clients’ investment needs.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Group’s Private Funds covering real estate properties and alternative investments in Asia Pacific
• Manage the monthly and quarterly variance analysis and provide commentary on the financial performance
• Prepare consolidation and closing of monthly accounts of funds, joint ventures, subsidiaries and associate
• Prepare monthly/quarterly/annual management financial reports and investors reports
• Liaise with fund managers on finance matters such as monthly accounts, cashflow forecasts, quarterly forecast and annual budget
• Prepare the monthly and quarterly consolidated management accounts for Group and fund manager’s reporting
• Coordinate, prepare and consolidate the funds quarterly forecasts and annual budget
• Manage Treasury and cash management matters
• Manage statutory financial statements, internal and external audit, tax filing and GST filing
• Supervise junior accounting staff

Requirements

• Minimum 6 years Accounting experience
• Professional Accounting qualifications such as Chartered Accountant (CA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
• Strong technical background, including consolidated reporting and statutory reporting experience
• Experience in private equity real estate funds (Waterfall calculation, Net Assets Values calculations, yields, distributions, and other fund accounting)
• Able to take responsibility, be accountable, work autonomously and as part of a broader team
• Familiarity with IBM Cognos Controller and SAP is added advantage
