Job Description

• Oversee and support a team of Vessel operators.
• Support Operators / Marne Superintendent in OPS related matters of fleet vessels
• Represent principles / managers as / when required for interactions with OM’s, regulatory authorities and industry events (as required)
• Oversee / Assist to ensure that the Marine databases are updated with correct valid info at all times (OCIMF (VPQ), Marine databases (SIRE, Q88, SIS3, CDI), etc as required.)
• Assist with production of required OPS department statistics + Operation dept related documentation required for Management Reviews.
• To ensure compliance with voyage instruction and to guide vessel master as required.
• To ensure compliance operational related parameters in accordance to the governing CP.
• Monitor fleet vessel movement and circulate / update other Depts to facilitate arrangements as required
• Monitor and review actual fuel consumption of vessels against budgeted consumption to ensure cost effectiveness.
• Proactive approach to handling possible Vessel claims related claims (Monitoring vessel’s performance (at sea and in port)
• Oversee and Conduct calculations, communication to contest, counter or respond to dispute against counterparty such as cargo damage or shortage, lay-time, underperformance etc
• Oversee and ensure management of voyage related documentation, and operation related vessel specific data for Fleet vessels.
• Entering vessel and voyage data into business applications.
• Oversee and assist with compilation of Insurance Claim documentation for fleet vessels.
• Coordination with Master / Charterers regarding unplanned stoppages / repairs. Including follow up for OFF/ON Hire reports and instructions to master’s regarding Vessel side reports (to external parties) (Under guidance from GM / Technical Manager)
• Monitor and support all vessels on operational issues (Loading / discharging / tank cleaning / grade change)
• Assist with post fixture activities as required (Cargo documentation (BL’s / LOI’s, Cargo quantity issues, Additional Insurance requirements (AWRP / KnR)
• Bunker ROB / Requirements of the vessel. Including notification to charterers (if required) and Intake quantity + segregation onboard. (Under guidance from Tech Supt and advise from Master as required)
• Agency appointment (as required) on owners’ behalf.
• Collect Customer Feedback.

Requirements

• A degree or qualification in maritime related studies / Master or Chief Officer COC
• Sailing experience of minimum 2 years on ocean going tanker vessels as a Chief Officer, Chemical tanker experience is preferred.
• Similar experience of the same position, 2 – 3 years in other tanker company would be beneficial
• Understanding in the tanker shipping industry from commercial operations and technical aspects
• Strong knowledge and understanding of the maritime regulatory environment as it relates to tankers.
• A sound understanding of regulatory and cultural aspects of key ports where ships discharge and load cargo
• Understanding of standard charter party terms and contracts
• Experience in team management.
• Good team player, communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently.

Job Description

Tropical Marine Science Institute (TMSI) of National University of Singapore (NUS) has an immediate vacancy in the area of regional sea level variability in the warming climate.

The ongoing Project “Understanding the low-frequency variability of coastal sea level in Southeast Asia using a regional ocean model and observations” has been funded by National Research Foundation until 31 July 2025. The successful candidate will be working with a multidisciplinary team of atmosphere and ocean scientists, and particularly be responsible for:

-running NEMO ocean model using past and projected forces provided by the atmospheric team;

-use data analysis and model simulations experiments to understand the mechanism of regional sea level variability driven by large scale atmosphere/oceanic processes.

Depending on qualifications and experience, successful Candidate could be employed at Research Fellow or Senior Research Fellow level.

Qualifications

Successful candidate will be having the following demonstrated knowledge, skills and experience:

• Understanding of regional sea level variability and large-scale atmosphere/ocean coupling;

The title of the current major project is <Development of a data-driven imaging biomarker for Alzheimer's disease>. The main objective of our ongoing research is to develop and validate data-driven imaging biomarkers to predict the prognosis of Alzheimer's disease dementia in elderly individuals by harmonizing established Alzheimer's disease research datasets and retrospective local institutional datasets.

The primary responsibilities of the Research Assistant will revolve around data management and administrative tasks, as described below:

Key Responsibilities

Database management and basic analysis:

- Download and integrate imaging and other non-imaging data into our research database.

- Perform basic neuroimaging processing and analysis using our existing R / Python pipeline. The role could extend to pipeline customization if the RA shows an interest and aptitude for image analysis work.

• Identify training needs for safety personnel and recommend the required training to ensure competency of the workforce.
• To conduct Safety Committee Meeting to address safety issues and ensure a safe working environment for all personnel
• Ensure in-house rules and regulations are implemented and enforced diligently at the worksite.
• Coordinate safety promotional activities to develop and maintain safety awareness among all personnel
• Evaluate, select and control sub-contractors to ensure awareness of their safety obligations on site
• Review, assess and maintain the Safety Data Sheets
• Ensure storage, movement, use, and disposal of hazardous substances and chemicals are well managed
• Ensure the register of hazardous substances is up to date
• Continuously review the emergency procedure and update.
• Manage and control situations arising during an emergency
• Plan and implement occupational health programs to protect workers from health hazards such as noise, dust, toxic gases, vapors and radiation
• Coordinate safety audit and ensure the closure of all findings
• Coordinate the preparation and submission of all required safety reports e.g. Integrated Management System (IMS) Quarterly report, Risk Assessment review
• Updates on codes of practice & safety literature and circulates information to each level of employees
• Monitor the Safety Performance of the project as set by the company policy and objectives e.g. Accident Frequency Rate (AFR), Accident Severity Rate (ASR) etc
• Person in charge of the workplace on environmental regulations pertaining to the Environmental Public Health (Registration of Environmental Control Officers) Regulations 1999
• Person in charge of the workplace implementation and revision of Environmental Management in the worksite
• Act as an Earth Control Measures Officer (ECMO)Ensure safety practices and housekeeping is to maintained to the highest standard

Requirements:-

• Must possess registered MOM WSH Officer license
• Min 3 years’ WSH Officer experience in Building projects

Responsibilities

• Responsible to create Purchase Requisition
• Task to distribute the created Purchase Orders to vendors / supplies via fax or email
• To ensure timely creation and accuracy of data
• Maintain the proper filling and document control for all processes
• Ensure safety practices and housekeeping is to maintained to the highest standard
• To perform ad-hoc duties as per assigned

Requirements

• Certificate / Diploma in Logistics / Supply Chain Management or equivalent
• Computer skills and Microsoft Office
