The successful candidate will develop and apply cutting-edge models that integrate large datasets of genomic sequences and social media content to understand and forecast disease transmission dynamics. The successful candidate will join the Protein Sequence Analysis group (https://www.a-star.edu.sg/bii/research/bsfd/psa) at the Bioinformatics Institute, which is part of the Agency for Science, Technology, and Research in Singapore (A*STAR Singapore). Our group plays important technical and scientific roles in GISAID (https://www.gisaid.org), which makes viral sequences available freely whilst safeguarding depositors’ data rights. As such, the selected candidate will be at the forefront of global genomic surveillance, and will get to interact with public health stakeholders regionally and internationally.
