Job Description:
The Manufacturing Principal Engineer - Static Equipment requires deep expertise in Refining and/or Chemicals manufacturing and Specialization in specific technology disciplines.
Project / Opportunity Support (Local Site Asset Support)
· Organizes and leads technical and cross-functional teams to address complex static equipment issues
· Champions competitive gap closure plans across Mechanical Integrity technology disciplines
· Pro-actively drives organization to achieve lowest life cycle cost for optimal asset management
· Leads significant incident investigations
Technologies, Solutions, Processes (Local Site Strategic Support)
· Works closely with the Site LT in establishing the site strategic vision and annual KFA’s
· Advises Technical / Engr Mgr. on key priorities incl. site tactical plans & Reliability stages updates
· Organizes and leads technical and cross-functional teams to develop project improvement ideas
· Drives innovation through identification, development, and deployment of improved technology and digital solutions
Staff Capability development
· An ambassador for the next generation of technical leaders; actively mentoring throughout the site
· Responsible for in-discipline succession plans for Principal Engineer and site L3 positions jointly with site leadership and the Senior Principal Engineer (supported by EMTEC S&D)
· Supports site career development by working jointly with Supv’s to develop SDA/IDP for site indiscipline engineers to align development plans with STP bench; inputs into JF Health Assessment
Strategic / Advisory (Regional / Global Support)
· Member of in-discipline Senior Principal Engineers Leadership Team/Network; serves as a primary site contact for EMTEC in their discipline – Competitiveness gap closure, ANRO, major project development.
· Networks with other Technology organization Principals (Ops and Technology), Sr. Principals, and Chiefs on job family health, technology development / deployments within the region / globe in their discipline, and work process improvement initiatives.
· Leads significant incident investigation for the region in-discipline; provides practical implementation guidance for corrective actions from investigations
Job Requirement:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree holders
- Engineering background, having catalysts and licensing business experiences would be extremely helpful
- Recognized as an Expert within their discipline with experience in effectively influencing Tier 2 decision makers (Site LT)
- Possesses technical breadth across other equipment technologies (e.g. Static Equip., Materials Integrity Engineering, Fired & Heat Transfer Equip., and Reliability)
- Good communication skills and able to work under pressure
- Fluent in English (both verbal and written)
- Able to work independently with self-motivation, but also having teamwork spirit
