DB Group will examine its Anti-Financial Crime (AFC) strategies, goals and objectives on an ongoing basis and maintain an effective program for DB’s business that reflects the best practices for a diversified, global financial services provider. The AML Team sits within the AFC function.

Your key responsibilities:
- Support the APAC Regional Head of Sanctions in protecting DB from legal, regulatory, and reputational risk with regard to business involving sanctioned entities and / or countries.
- Provide guidance regarding sanctions-related questions and issues; thereby supporting Businesses (1st Line of Defence) establish appropriate organization and control structures to process transactions in a well-defined and compliant environment.
- Interface with client service officers on transaction- filtering related requests and decide on these in full compliance with all applicable sanctions regulations as well as the DB’s policies and procedures.
- Continuously monitor the sanctions regulatory situation in the region.
- Support in the translation of external developments of the legal situation into potential policy adjustments for the Bank.
- Ensure diligent review of transaction-filtering related requests and decide on these in full compliance with all applicable sanctions regulations as well as the Bank's policies and procedures.
- Investigate and review transaction payment messages escalated from Regulatory Filtering Operations to APAC Sanctions for potential sanctions or policy violations.
- Support all Sanctions-related aspects in deal team activities, including the drafting of sanctions clauses.
- Support sanctions-relevant reporting obligations involving countries in the APAC region to the competent authorities.
- Handle and respond to inquiries from regulatory authorities as well as internal or external auditors and business lines regarding sanctions observance.
- Conduct of training or briefing sessions to Business and other Infrastructure units within the APAC region.
- Participation in global and regional calls to update on regional developments and issues may be required.
- Reporting of any sanctions breaches to the AFC Sanctions Breach Team.
- Identification of any sanctions relevant gaps in existing processes and addressing these with relevant stakeholders.
Your skills and experience:
- Minimum 7 years’ relevant Sanctions experience within a Financial Institution or Investment Bank providing Sanctions Advisory service directly to internal and external stakeholders.
- Proven experience with Regional and Global Sanctions policies & Governance cutting across APAC region.
- Proven Project Management experience in Sanctions related initiatives, with the ability to lead a small team, while providing stability re: business-as-usual activities.
- Possesses attention to detail and being meticulous in reviewing sanctions-related issues for all escalations from Business units and APAC locations.
- Proven stakeholder management skills with ability to communicate (verbal and written) clearly to Business units and APAC locations substantiated assessment/position and recommend follow-up action.
- Self-starter, proactive and independent, exercises flexibility in addressing contentious issues, principled, and action-oriented individual.
- Proven experience in managing teams with diverse cultural backgrounds.
Role is required to be performed on-site at One Raffles Quay office. Relevant vaccination requirements may apply.
