Responsibilities:

• Performing purchasing of ships spares and stores, consumable items, crew’s gear, safety related equipment and other items in coordination with the Superintendents.
• Responsible for sourcing, evaluating, negotiating and purchasing of ship spare parts, stores, equipment with local and global approved suppliers to meet the scheduled shipment.
• Evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, delivery speed and accuracy of purchased good;
• Issuance of Purchase Order upon confirmation by department Superintendent in charge;
• Interview vendors and visit suppliers' plants and distribution centers to examine and learn about products, services, and prices and HSSE culture. Constant sourcing for new vendors.

This is a hands-on role involving building large-scale simulation platforms and reinforcement algorithms. You will have the opportunity to build a digital twin of Grab’s marketplace that consists of tens of thousands of consumers, drivers and merchants. The Day-to-Day Activities

• Architect and develop our simulation platform to simulate the response from the real marketplace that involves different types of services that Grab is providing
• Collaborate with product analysts, managers and business teams to define, prototype and build simulation SDKs to facilitate users to run simulations under different scenarios
• Architect and develop reinforcement learning frameworks to train and run reinforcement learning algorithms at scale, provide efficient optimization solutions to challenging business problems such as pricing, demand and supply management.

As a Lead Electrical Engineer for FPSO (Floating Production, Storage, and Offloading), you will be responsible for providing technical leadership and expertise in the design, installation, and maintenance of electrical systems onboard FPSO vessels. You will lead a team of electrical engineers and technicians, ensuring the safe and reliable operation of electrical equipment and systems in compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements. Your role will involve overseeing electrical design, integration, commissioning, and troubleshooting activities to support FPSO operations and project execution.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Lead and manage a team of electrical engineers and technicians involved in the design, installation, and maintenance of electrical systems onboard FPSO vessels.
2. Plan, coordinate, and oversee electrical engineering activities throughout the project lifecycle, including conceptual design, detailed engineering, construction, and commissioning phases.
3. Develop electrical specifications, drawings, and technical documents in accordance with project requirements, class society rules, and regulatory standards (e.g., ABS, DNVGL).
4. Review and approve electrical design deliverables, including single-line diagrams, schematics, equipment layouts, cable schedules, and equipment specifications.
5. Collaborate with other engineering disciplines, project managers, and vendors to ensure the successful integration of electrical systems with overall FPSO design and project objectives.
6. Conduct technical reviews, risk assessments, and feasibility studies for electrical engineering projects, identifying opportunities for optimization and improvement.
7. Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, industry standards, and best practices for electrical safety, performance, and reliability.
8. Provide technical support and guidance during procurement activities, including specification of electrical equipment and materials, vendor evaluation, and bid review.
9. Lead commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting activities for electrical systems and equipment onboard FPSO vessels, ensuring adherence to project specifications and quality standards.
10. Monitor and analyze electrical system performance, reliability, and efficiency, identifying opportunities for optimization, maintenance, and upgrades to support FPSO operations.

Requirements:

1. Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field. A Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., PE license) is preferred.
2. Proven experience (8+ years) in electrical engineering, with a focus on marine and offshore projects, particularly FPSO vessels.
3. Strong technical knowledge and expertise in electrical engineering principles, practices, and standards, including marine electrical systems, power distribution, and hazardous area classification.
4. Familiarity with class society rules (e.g., ABS, DNVGL), regulatory requirements (e.g., IMO, SOLAS), and industry standards applicable to FPSO electrical systems.
5. Proficiency in electrical design software and tools, such as AutoCAD, ETAP, EPLAN, or equivalent programs, for schematic design, calculations, and analysis.
6. Experience leading and managing multidisciplinary engineering teams, with demonstrated leadership abilities and effective communication skills.
7. In-depth understanding of electrical safety practices, hazard analysis, and risk assessment methodologies applicable to marine and offshore environments.

Overall Job Purpose

Under direction of Section Lead as a lead assigned engineer (LAE), to develop, manage, and coordinate engineering proposal activities and deliverables preparation including engineering manhour estimation, engineering schedule, and material take-off along with the engineering disciplines.

To engage and manage all necessary interface issues with other departments including fabrication, installation, commissioning, and proposal team as a representative of engineering department.

Responsibilities

• To develop winning strategy and tactics jointly with Proposal Manager, to lead and manage engineering proposal activities, and to prepare deliverables in cooperation with Engineering Section Leads
• To deal with regulatory issues affecting engineering proposal works including engineering quality, cost and/or risk and to ensure that engineering deliverables always comply with regulatory requirements and MODEC’s policies
• To check and clarify allocation of the necessary resources on proposal work in coordination with Section Leads and to ensure that resources assignment to the project is well planned.
• To coordinate with Engineering Section Leads to confirm readiness of engineering tools and software, enabling engineers to meet the expectations of the Project.
• For improvement of the productivity and competitiveness, to lead the review and improvement of work systems and processes by introduction of new technology/methods, raising professional standards, and acquiring better equipment.
• To review, update, and enhance engineering proposal practices, ensuring that appropriate follow-up actions are taken
• To prepare and finalize the Engineering Execution Budget under direction of Director of Engineering Department, Proposal Section Lead.
