JOB SUMMARY

• This is an individual contributor role responsible for performing independent validation of models used in credit risk management, regulatory capital calculation, loss provisioning, stress testing etc. The role involves working with multiple stakeholders across different businesses and geographies. The incumbent need to be well versed with the credit risk modelling landscape and technical expertise in developing or validating statistical models within banking industry.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Risk Management

• Perform an independent validation of new and existing models that are used in credit risk management, capital calculation, loss provisioning, stress testing etc.
• Qualitative review of model development process including underlying assumptions & theoretical basis.
• Quantitative assessment of model performance via data evaluation and statistical testing.
• Documentation of validation findings and communication of results to senior management and presentation to relevant committees.
• Coordination with internal stakeholders on model issues, achieving suitable resolutions.
• Manage and complete the model validation from end to end, meeting the planned timelines and required standards.
• Recommend improvements in the models.
• Review regulatory requirements and industry practice regarding the models.
• Assist Head of Model Validation in addressing concerns or questions relating to the models.

Our Ideal Candidate

• 7+ years of experience in analytics, developing or validating statistical models within banking industry.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Risk Management

• Responsible for identifying, assessing, monitoring, controlling and mitigating risks to the Group. Also, an awareness and understanding of the main risks facing the Group and the role the individual plays in managing them

• Approving breaches of Portfolio Guidelines / Underwriting Guidelines, to the extent permitted under Credit Policy / Portfolio Guidelines.
• Ensuring timely submission and accuracy of credit portfolio data to the relevant stakeholder
• Monitoring compliance with Credit Policy and Portfolio Guidelines / Underwriting Guidelines periodically and reviewing any divergence thereof with the SCO RMF&HF Risk
• Ensure EAR process is adhered to. Assist relationship managers in identification and managing up or out of accounts exhibiting signs of deterioration and assist Special Assets Group, where appropriate, in managing accounts to maximise recoveries and minimise losses.
• Initiate stress tests as required by internal and external factors and review results and assess their implications
• Uphold the integrity of risk/return decisions, by challenging business to demonstrate that risk origination and control decisions are properly informed and consistent with strategy
• Continuously improve the operational efficiency and effectiveness of Credit Control and Reporting with regards to RMF & HF.
• Ensure effective management of operational risks with respect to RMF&HF Risk management functions and compliance with applicable internal policies, and external laws and regulations
