What We Can Achieve Together:

The Global Safeguards Senior Manager leads design and implementation of TNC’s rights-centered Environmental and Social Safeguards Framework. The Global Safeguards Senior Manager leads the development of an organization-wide rights-centered Environmental and Social Safeguards Framework (ESSF), based on existing materials and staff input to-date. They advise global strategies and regions in the development, implementation and active management of tailored Human Rights-centered Environmental and Social Safeguards, based on the Global ESSF. They provide technical leadership in designing, upgrading and delivering tools for management of the rights-centered ESSF. They will supervise a team charged with development and implementation of the ESSF. They work with Regional Rights and Safeguards Advisors in their design, implementation and collective movement building to integrate new standards and processes in conservation projects, programs and strategies. They work with the Global Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities team to implement UNDRIP and TNC Human

Rights Guide in our conservation work in regions. They will be a part of the Equitable Conservation Team in the Chief Conservation Office and will report to the Director, Human Rights in Conservation.

The Global Safeguards Senior Manager influences TNC leadership and advocates for the incorporation of rights-based Environmental and Social Safeguards in organizational policies, processes and procedures. They ensure that the ESSF incorporates strategies that center human rights and support TNC’s compliance with public funding mandates and requirements, as well as build momentum around public funding compliance. They advise the Human Rights in Conservation Director, and the Equitable Conservation Director on how to effectively coordinate safeguards and rights issues across the Chief Conservation Office and Equitable Conservation portfolios, including new strategies. They work to develop a matrixed dotted line network of managed strategy advisors in the field through active collaboration, as well as supporting the development and uptake of ESSF resources and tools. They act as liaison to staff on global conservation teams and advise staff on active strategy management and capacity building. They oversee the development of culturally-responsive training programs, educational materials, and the development of a Train the Trainer program. Technical Delivery Manager (TDM) for Data Governance initiatives, you will be responsible for overseeing and ensuring the successful implementations. The role involves coordinating with cross-functional teams, understanding business requirements, and ensuring the alignment of technical solutions with data governance objectives. Key responsibilities for this role are:

Project Leadership: Lead planning, execution, and delivery of Business Glossary, Metadata management and Data lineage solution, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.

Review & deliver documents such as solution design, program specifications for target solutions

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including data stewards, IT professionals, and business analysts, infrastructure & information security teams, to ensure a cohesive and integrated approach to metadata management and data lineage; Create frameworks, technical features which helps in establishing end to end data lineage for Critical Data Elements

Quality Assurance: Implement quality assurance processes to ensure the accuracy, consistency, performance & SLA monitoring and completeness of metadata and data lineage information in SIT, UAT and production environment

Vendor Management: Coordinate with vendors providing metadata management solutions, overseeing their contributions to the successful implementation of the projects.

Project Management & Risk Management: Plan, execute, and deliver metadata management and data lineage projects within scope, on time, and within budget. Identify and mitigate risks associated with metadata management and data lineage projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Training and Documentation: Provide inputs for training programs and ensure documentation to enhance understanding and adoption of metadata management and data lineage best practices within the organization.

Performance Monitoring: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor the performance of metadata management and data lineage initiatives, making adjustments as needed to meet objectives.

8+ years of experience in implementing data governance solutions with a strong background in deploying such solutions, encompassing both on-premise and cloud-based models.

Metadata Management Tools: Proficiency in using metadata management tools such as Informatica IDMC, IBM Watson Knowledge Catalog or equivalent tools (Collibra, Alation, Solidatus)

Data Lineage Tools: Experience with data lineage tools like Informatica IDMC, IBM Manta or similar solutions to establish and visualize end-to-end data flows. Identify and build both business and technical lineage, including strategies for fixing lineage breaks
