The RF will need to be capable of working both independently and in a team, of developing innovative solutions, and of publishing research findings in high-impact conferences and journals. This position is part of an exciting large-scale (multi-research team) project that aims to create a holistic BCI solution for the restoration and enhancement of brain functions.

A*STAR Infectious Diseases Labs (A*STAR ID Labs) is seeking for a Research Officer to join us in our mission to be a leading centre of infectious diseases research. A*STAR ID Labs aims to develop a cohesive A*STAR response to drive and deliver translational infectious diseases research to better health and economic outcomes.

The candidate will be joining the Antimicrobial Chemical Biology Lab, a newly established group in A*STAR ID Labs focusing on the development of synthetic antimicrobial compounds for potential therapeutic applications. Scholarship opportunities will be available for those interested in pursuing further education at the master’s or PhD level.

Research projects will encompass various tasks such as:

• Chemical synthesis
• In vitro activity testing

Job Requirements:

The Beh lab seeks to develop cutting-edge CRISPR-Cas technologies to uncover the biological functions of RNA modifications. Dysregulation of these modifications has been linked to cancer, neurological disorders, and metabolic disease. Purpose of the post

This position requires a strong independent work ethic, interest in education and early child development, ability to collaborate with the research team and external partners, commitment to equity, as well as qualitative and quantitative research skills. The successful candidate will work closely, collaboratively and competently as part of an interdisciplinary team within CHILD. They will have excellent writing, presentation, and project management skills. Main Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

• Design training packages and conduct training for research staff and early childhood practitioners from social science, health and education
• Plan lessons/coaching sessions, instructional design, and assessment activities
• Establish metrics to measure success and impact of training programmes and workshops.
• Organize in-person and online coaching and training sessions
• Prototype new approaches in teaching and learning, anchored on evidence-informed practices

Qualifications

We are a team headed by Dr Matias I Autio, Senior Research Fellow in the laboratory of Prof Roger Foo.

We are embarking on a project to establish genome-engineered packaging cell lines for production of lentiviral gene therapy vectors. The project is closely linked with industrial partners and the aim is develop technology with eventual commercial deployment.

We are looking for a Research Associate to drive the wet lab research activities for the duration of the project.

Responsibilities:

• Clone and amplify complex constructs necessary for engineering of mammalian cells
• Maintain cultures of mammalian cells to a high standard and conduct engineering experiments working closely with the project leads
• Compile and organise experimental data, including cell culture records, characterization results, and cell line inventory information
• Conduct daily wet-lab experiments e.g. nucleic acid extraction and quantification
• Assist the team to ensure a safe and efficient working environment
• Ensure project deliverables are met in a timely manner and to the highest standard

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of working experience in a research laboratory
• Experience with mammalian cell culture and genome engineering
