Main Responsibilities

This position will support the Palm and Veg-oil Product Line by analyzing internal and external data sources, ensuring that palm research remains consistently updated, well-informed, and adaptable to market changes.

• Maintain the research database and dashboards, ensure its integrity and accuracy.
• Proactively monitor external data and market intelligence, stay abreast of routine releases, policies, and market trends.
• Analyze and interpret data and information to extract valuable insights.
• Collaborate with the origination research team and Destination PIC to ensure our export demand estimations accurately reflect market dynamics.
• Assist in production estimation and adjustment for both long-term and spot projections, while regularly monitor and update weather indicators.
• Assist in the analysis of new projects and initiatives, provide insights and fundamental-driven analysis to facilitate decision-making processes within the platform.

Experience

• 0-2 years of working experience in research trading or agricultural markets, understanding of agricultural fundamentals.

The Research Assistant will be expected to engage in projects around 5G Digital Telecommunication Platform for Cyber Exercises under the Future Communications R&D Programme (FCP) Office in SUTD. Additionally, he/she will also have teaching responsibilities and will be expected to assist in the supervision of graduate students in Cybersecurity. We are seeking a highly motivated research assistant with a strong mathematical background who is interested to explore new research directions in neuro-symbolic methods, specifically on the interplay between deep learning and symbolic reasoning. The successful candidate can expect to help with the implementation of algebraic machine reasoning frameworks and will work closely with other team members.

The goal of this project is to develop a general neuro-symbolic reasoning framework for solving various reasoning tasks. The symbolic reasoning part of this framework shall be based on algebraic machine reasoning, a new reasoning paradigm built upon commutative algebra and computational algebra. The non-symbolic part of the framework shall primarily be based on deep learning, and could include vision models, language models, and multi-modal models.

Qualification & Experience:

• Bachelor's in computer science.
• Strong programming experience and must be open to learning new things.
• Strong mathematical background, and is excited by the possibility of applying algebraic methods (e.g. in computational algebra) to problems in machine reasoning.
